Another scope question. When I took the Bushnell AR 4.5x18 scope out of the wrapper, a little dime-shaped piece of aluminum with a "B" embossed on it fell out. I assume it goes in the rangefinder turrent, but I don't see any way of holding it there. Without it, the turrent shows a bright steel screw/cap with a coin slot. The instruction manual says the turrent cap should be solid with a hex screw holding it in place. Doesn't sound like this turrent at all. I assume I would loosen the screw/cap and turn the turrent to reset zero, then retighten the screw. But do I have a faulty turrent cap, or is that "B" disk to be removed [or held in place some way]? It just fits the opening in the rangefinder turrent, but not tight enough to stay in place. I might be able to use double-sided tape to hold it in place.

Sounds like a decorative item for the outside of the turrent cap that has fell off, hard to tell without pics. Look for pics of your scope. Good luck with it.

If it don't have a hole through it or other means of attachment then it should be decorative or a tool. Call Bushnell.

If the turret has a coin slot for adjustment, the most logical answer to your question is the disk is a turret adjustment tool.

I have e-mailed Bushnell with the question. It's very thin to be an adjustment tool, but it might be. I'll post their reply when I get it.

It's a decorative piece for the turret cap. I have a few cheap Bushnell scopes and those always fall off.

Bushnell responded "that piece is the emblem for the parallax adjustment, it is not crucial to the scope but if you would like it on the dial you can just super glue it back on." So I cut a piece of double-sided carpet tape to fit and put it back in place.
