Ok, I usually believe in in shooting up old ammo thats not really that old or not full boxes or even beat up boxes. My gut tells me that this is not rare or collectible. But I dont want to make a mistake :)

One box isnt full, about half. The other two are full, but someone wrote in pen on the boxes. The ammo has 64 head stamps.

Whats the verdict, I bought it to plink with as it was cheaper than other 45 rounds.

What do you folks think?

Thanks Guys!!!

Putting it in the bag now to shoot this afternoon :)

I dont think I will be saving this empty brass either, with crimped and sealed primers, not worth fooling with...

500 what part of the state are you from, I am way down in the SW corner...

Southington, between Meriden and Wolcott mountains. Makes shooting good as the mountains are a natural back stop.:p

I've shot a bunch of that ammo, but kept some boxes for photo purposes, along with other vintage stuff. The several boxes I have burned up shot great!

Save the brass, I've used a simple Lee tool to remove the crimp and have been stooting that same 45 GI brass since!...I'm cheap!....just don't over cut it.

I've chucked up a Lee primer pocket tool in an electric drill and use that to clean primer pockets. It works great for powder residue, not sure about crimped primer pockets.

Trooper Dan, Don't chuck that brass! I've been reloading a bunch of it mixed in with other brass for over 20 years. Never de-crimped it either. I've got some RA 54, for example, that comes to mind, and some ancient '50s vintage WCCs as well. It's all good.
