Another value help request

I'm thinking of selling off my 1971 17-3. I bought it used with just the original magna numbered grips and an instruction sheet. I later bought here a set of period correct (roughly lol) target grips. If I sell it, not sure I'll include the targets or not. I was thinking about $750 but that's not written in stone, I'm including the original post when I got it with photos.

I'm limited to getting to my shipping dealer to Saturdays only for the forseeable future so may limit it to local sales IF I pursue selling. This is not an offer to sell at this time, just looking for a real world value from those that know more than I.

I just don't use it-in the 2 years I've owned it I don't think I've put more than 200 rounds through it, my older son who has children has a few .22s of his own so no one in the family to give it to. I added red paint to the face of the Patridge sight to help with visibility, easily removed.

I've not been in the buying market for well over a year or so. I've read here in this forum that prices are up. Personally, I'd LOVE to have that revolver to shoot. My only other is a '48 K22 that my late Dad handed down to me. He bought it shortly after returning from the war in the Pacific. Too bad we don't live closer, I'd try to do a trade with you if you were interested in Garand. Not knowing today's market I think $750 is a good price. Let's see what other folks say.

Nice looking 17. In my opinion, in that condition and no box, that’s a $600 gun.

I’ve got three 17s, a no-dash, a -3, and a -4. They are all in very nice condition, the -4 and no-dash have box, docs and accessories. The -4 is really like a new gun, not been fired since it left the factory, and I’m not sure if I’d get $750 for it.

Reading the original post you were pretty pumped about it when purchased. My advice is to not sell it. You will at some point look back on the sale and wonder...WHY? I can almost guarantee it.

Thank you gents. Yes I was thrilled when I stumbled across though 200 rounds in 2 years just doesn’t feel right. I have an older High Standard Victor that gets used almost every range session. I’d rather get another .38/.357 in 4” that would see a lot more range time.

Yes it is a great revolver, still undecided on it’s future with me. It’s a dilemma I’m happy to have lol.
