My neighbor's german shepherd came back from the vet today. She had an infection of the outer ear and required surgery. They found a slight infection in the other one that had the same infection a few months ago. We think it was from playing with the cat. It was more like a blood blister about the size of a peach pit.

I saw her with her head taped up, bandages, and the cone. She looked so miserable I wanted to puke. Tried to comfort her as best I could but she barely worked up a few tiny kisses on my hand.

Anti-depressent for dogs?

I think they're called a "Puppy Upper"...
(The opposite of a "Doggie Downer")

BillBond and Rammer Jammer I appreciate the serious responses. When I posted I was still upset over her condition and got overemotional.

As to the rest a little advice. If you guys didn't try so hard to be funny, maybe you could be. For every Mark Twain there are already millions of keyboard comics.

Sounds sad, but that’s a lucky dog. A lot of them don’t receive proper medical attention. They heal quickly and get over it, provided they can’t rip the stitches open.

The anti-depressant title got my attention, because our next door neighbors dog is on them. She’s some kind of herding breed and is crazy without her meds. She wore paths inside the electric fence, barking and chasing anyone or anything that passed by. She nipped at me several times, when I’d go over to pet her and give her treats. She also nipped at the owners and their kids and they treat her well and give her lots of love. They didn’t want to put her down or give her up, so they tried doggie Prozac. No idea what it costs, but she’s calmer now. Still a little goofy, but manageable.

Glad she’s doing better! This is what cheers mine up ....

That photo cheers me up too. The dog I'm writing about isn't mine, but I love her just as much as my own. I don't think she is ready for slobber tennis yet, what with the cone and bandages and all.

My son's Mini Schnauzer, always liked to defeather a chicken or two when he was feeling blue. The chickens didn't like it at all! That jet black face with a mouth full of white feathers and a grin bigger than our county!

Well I have to believe that would be welcome in the dog world.

To many times I have seen many a hunter into the field, go through tons of ammo with nary a bird falls from the sky !!

Old bowser just looks at the hunter and has to sit there and hope that the next shot connects.
I feel for those dogs and always thought that they needed a day on the couch with a shrink !!
