Any 22a owners out there?

I've had one for about 6 weeks now. After app 450 rounds, I find it to be fun, accurate and fairly easy to maintain. I have the wooden grips which make it fit folks with fairly large hands.

I got the model 22A-1.
what is the diff between this and the 22-A?
I got it for $225 with 4 mags, box and papers. Two tone.

I've been thinking about getting one of these. I've tried several .22 autos by other manufactureres and keep having misfeeds. How well does it function as far as misfeeds are concerned?

I had problems with failure to feed until I whipped out the ole dremmel and wire brushed the feed ramp and under side of the slide assembly to remove the paint. Works like a charm ever since. obligitory photo:

I'm on my 3rd one. First one was a 4". It shot great, just kind of ugly.

The second one got traded for some reason or other, and the newest one is the 5.5" two tone. I topped it off with a Traditions red dot, and it is super accurate. The feed ramp on this one was void of paint from the factory. Maybe they finally caught on.

I just picked up the 5.5" Bull bbl. model with the HV sights at a gun show last weekend, haven't had a chance to get to the range yet though. I ordered a Walther Nano Point Red Dot for it today, and am looking forward to seeing how that will work on it ... couldn't find much info on this combo on other sites, but still need to make a post about it here.

I bought one this week and I have not had a chance to take it out either, but I did do extensive reading and most shooters claim good accuracy and good value for the dollar. You can find nicer guns, but will pay accordingly. Got mine used with low miles on it for $175.00.

Got one awhile back. I'm surprised by how accurate this gun is with open sights. My only problem is not enough magazines. Too easy to go through 20 rounds in a hurry. I like it well enough I want another one. The one I have, .22A-1, I want a target model next.

22a for my wife

I have posted this else where on the site as well. Good gun, bad trigger. I shoot competitively and NEVER see a 22a. Rugers and Model 41 Smiths are the only 22's on the line. The Rugers, mine included, prevail. All have modified triggers and usually bull barrells. The 22a is a good starter gun, but not for anything serious. My 22a was purchased for my wife to see if she liked shooting. I installed a UltraDot red dot, a great sight, and she is VERY good with it. If she keeps getting better I will get her something else. IF the 22a had a trigger that was worthy of the barrel, it would be a great gun. Trigger is NOT good. There is nothing that I know of to improve it, and that is the problem. On the Ruger, it is very easy to have a 2.5 lb trigger pull. Buy a Valquartsen kit and install it yourself! Not hard at all.

I must have lucked out on the trigger on the none I got last month-just as smooth as my Buckmark. The gun has been 100% through about 400 rds, is accurate and very easy to maintain. The only issue I have the the machining of the top rail- hard to find a good optic (cheap) that will fit without some modification.
