Dad was an Eagle Scout and went to the "Werld" Jamboree in Holland in 1937. I made Star with one merit badge short of life. Troop 10, Explorer Post 10 Berwick PA. Order of the Arrow and a counselor at Camp Lavigne. Went to Philmont in '64, middle trail. Six years later I was in scenic Southeast Asia. A Scout is; Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. Do a good turn (deed) daily.:D

Troop 431 Richmond Hts ,Ohio, Bluestone District, made it to 'Star' learned to "smoke, drink, and shoot by 1959"............

Be Prepared.........................

Life with enough merit badges to make Eagle, but, dad was in the big green machine and we moved a lot. OA, Brotherhood and Ordeal. All my troops were on military installations and for some reason all were Troop 6. Still remembe the old joke - What's the difference between the Boy Scouts and the Army? Adult leadership:)

It was so long ago I can't remember much except I made 1st class. Later, for my boys, I was the Committee Chairman for 4 years and Scoutmaster for 4 years for Troop 740 in Towson Maryland. Loved every minute of it.

So long ago I don't remember the names or numbers but I did a stint in the cub scouts the boy scouts the explorers and the U.S. Air Force. All great American organizations... "Be Prepared" "Fly and Fight"

Eagle scout troop 13 san jose 1992. My bro got his in 88 I believe our grandfather got his in 1930 I believe. He pinned our badges on both of us. He only had daughters. My dad was not in becuase his dad died when he was 15 and he had to work to help his mom he is an only child. I hope my son wants to scouts. My bro in tx has his 8 year old in cubs. I think it kept me on the narrow. Also worked at camp hi sierra by pinecrest summer 94 lots of fun. I wish I could have gone to philmont or a national or world jamboree

I was told by at least 1 HR manager that my eagle scout got me hired over another equal job candidate

Troop 172, St. Louis MO. Went to Life, Joined the Explorers then the Navy at 17. Came back and served as an adult leader totaling 27 years. OA and Woodbadge (NC546-312-43).

Eagle Scout Nov 1 1977
Son Eagle Scout June 2008
Still involved as Assistant Scoutmaster in Lexington KY
Son, Daughter, and Father as BSA Lifeguards
Wife does the bookstuff for the Troop

Troop 364, Chickasaw Council, Memphis, TN. Made Life.
Scout Master - Don Pitt
Assistant Scout Masters - Dexter Wittie, Roger Cunningham, Jack Emmert and a few that the names evade my right now.

I've kept taps on a few of the people I was in BSA with over the past 35 plus years and ran into one of the assistant SM's last year. He did not recognize me but remembered me and my two younger brothers names after reintroducing myself after 35 years. What really blew his mind was I remembered the names if his two sons (easy, I was in BSA with them), his daughter and his wife.

Class III

I am sitting here at midnight wearing my Troop 223, Killeen TX t shirt. My scout career got diverted by "the fumes" gasoline and girls. My son earned Eagle Scout in 2000. We both worked at the June 2001 Scout Jamboree at Fort AP Hill, VA.

Blackhawk,

Troop 111, George Washington Council, Oxford, NJ
1958 - 1962
First Class - Patrol Leader
50th anniversary National Jamboree at Colorado Springs, Co. 1960
Camp Pahaquarra '58-'62, fond memories of rifle range also. My older brother was on staff during the late '50's. One year I got to fire the Winchester signal cannon at retreat. Today you would never know there was camp there. the only thig left is the foundation and floor of the mess hall.

At this time all our Scoutmasters were WWII vets.

Troop 834 in San Diego, youngest Life scout in the county just shy of 13 years old. Got my first job at 14 and that was it for scouting. )o; Great experience, anyone else do a Camelback? Ours started at 1500' and we climbed to a little over 4,000' in a day and a half, it hurts just thinking about it. Lots of memories here, Order of the Arrow, mile swim, sneaking smokes. When I was serving in Turkey I volunteered as an assistant scout master for the troop on the base. We took them camping on the Colonels golf course and trashed a couple of holes....big trouble. (o;
