Any Boy Scouts here?

Cub Scouts in San Jose California, Troop 254. We moved to the Seattle area when I was 11, and was in Troop 621, Bellevue, WA. In what may be the biggest regret in my life, I didn't push myself to get to Eagle like my older brother did. By the time I was 13 the folks had split up and I was working to make money instead of doing scouting activities.

I know my mother still has my merit badge sash tucked away somewhere.

Troop 660, Falls Church, VA, 1973-77, Life Scout, Senior Patrol Leader. Perfume and gasoline won out over Eagle rank. I wish I had stuck with it. I also spent 8 years in leadership roles (Cubmaster, Scoutmaster) for my two sons. We share some great memories of Scouting together.
"A hundred years from now, nobody will remember what kind of car I drove or how much money I made; but that I made a difference in the life of a Scout..."
I will always treasure Scouting and the memories I have from the program.

I started as a Tiger Cub and most of my time was in troop 33 of Webster SD. I made Eagle Scout in Troop 261 of Sioux City IA. I am currently a unit commissioner in the Westmoreland Fayette Council. Scouting is a great program that helps a lot of boys.

Eagle Scout, troop 401 Claremont California. Order of the Arrow, Navajo Lodge. National Jamboree Idaho 1969. Brother was an Eagle as well, Dad received the Silver Beaver. Still have all my patches for 'trading.'

Troop 846 Baltimore Maryland,
Cub Scout to Life, JTL,Order of the arrow, Philmont, Patrol leader.
Gave it all up for a driving license and a girl friend.
Should of stayed in and made Eagle scout only need two more merit badges, to bad they weren't Girls and driving.

Troop 46 in Austin. Similar situation to Redmond. I did work out at Philmont 6 summers after college. Great times.

Troop 53, North Little Rock, AR. Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor, six summers on staff at Cove Creek Reservation, Philmont Ranger for three years. Miss it everyday, but my house is full of girls now all the way down to the pets!

Troop 452, Valley Forge Council. I got to Life Scout, but advancement wasn't really our thing. We liked to camp and did so at least once a month. I got to the Charles L. Sommers Wilderness Canoe Base at 14. Our crew went 200 miles into the Quetico Provincial Forest. Standing on land that no man had been on in hundreds of years, water so clear you drank it off the paddle. Throw a Johnson's spoon into any weed bed and it came out with a Pike on the end of it. Best ten days of my life...

great thread
lots of fellow scouters out there!

eagle (made it a couple months before turning 18) in 1971
vigil honor
worked in scout camp a few summers....camp waubeeka, copake ny
(mess hall....uh..sorry...dining hall)

all around great experience....started my love affair with the outdoors
and my passion for cooking (learned to cook for 200 before i learned
to cook for just a few...my wife still accuses me of "cooking for the army"

Troop 7,Coral Gables, Fl.I'm an Eagle scout(1968);so is my brother
& my son. Two of my closest friends were Eagles in the same troop;
we're camping together in Ocala Nat'l. Forest next week. I went to Philmont
as a scout & went back with my son. I was admiring 2 Old Town
canoes hanging from the ceiling in the upscale hiking
& outdoors store in the mountain resort town near our
summer home & the owner told me he bought them from
Camp Sebring, our council's summer camp way back when.
I told him I'd probably flipped one of them on purpose .
I served as my son's Cub Scout pack scout leader & assistant scoutmaster
for his troop. My lifelong love of the outdoors & whatever woodcraft
skills I still possess came from my time in the Boy Scouts.

Regards,

i was in the cub scouts...my troop disbanded right before i moved up to full fledged boy scouts...they never had a camp out, hardly ever worked towards any kinds of badges, my parents as well as others offered help, but the group involved did not feel the need for it...they even tried to take over, but that went no where. i feel i missed out.

All rise; face the flag; stand at attention; give the Scout sign and repeat after me:
"On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight."

Eagle Scout here; citation by Legislature for outstanding community service.

"Be Prepared"

Troop 77, Then the council changed it to 277 in mid 60's. only made 2nd class, working on 1st class. Fruitbelt council Kalamazoo county. Really enjoyed summer camp, and canoe trips. Shot a single shot .22 for first gun at camp.It was a pretty active troop with a lot of camp outs and canoe trips. Good times. I don't think it's a troop anymore.
