I have always loved the look and feel of the Browning HP. I sold my first one and regretted it immediately after a couple years later I bought another one that was the same.

Definitely an HP fan, always liked the look of the gun. One night I grabbed my wife's one to see why my dog was going nuts and as I headed out was surprised at just how good it felt! Hers had Uncle Mikes grips and the mag safety removed. Nice.

I have 3 at this time. First one is a 1959 Browning badged in 85-90% condition from holster wear. The second is a early '50s FN E-series in 80-85% condition. The last is my favorite, a late '40s FN in 50% condition that has a 4.5lb trigger. Picked it up online for $275. This one will be the "custom". I plan to send the slide to Heinie for a set of plain Slant Pro sights. I will work on the slight pitting issues myself and then get a local guy to do a blue job, or maybe see if I can find someone local to hard chrome it.

I really like the lines on the older internal extractor HP's with the takedown scallop.

I have an older commercial and one of the newer matte finish ones. My only complaints are the small sights and controls. I looked at having Novak sights put on the newer one and it would cost more than I paid for the gun.

I bought my first HP new in 1985. Had Cylinder & Slide add sights and some other stuff. Traded it a few years later with regrets. I picked up a very clean 1968 vintage with original box a year or so ago. This one stays as found which is fine by me. Great gun.

I was given 2 by my father in law. Both are accurate, reliable, and easy to carry in a Horseshoe Leather Small of the Back holster. I carried one for a couple of years. I really find them hard to beat in 9mm. If I wasn't so stuck on 45s and revolvers I would probably be carrying one now. Anyone that carries a Browning HP is well armed.

In about 1972 I swapped a 2" square butt model 10 and $40 boot for my Belgium HP brand new. It has the Browning adjustable sight. Back then I was in L.E. and the only real 9mm was the mdl 39 and the 59 had just came available.

This one weapon is perhaps my favorite. Being an almost exclusive revolver man this one of the few auto I have hung on to thru the years.
It is still a classic handgun.

Also it's the only weapon I fired in the line of duty and it performed just like it was intended to do.

The BHP is my favorite SA auto, with the Model 39 being my favorite DA auto.

A couple years ago, there was a thread on the 1911, and I posted this just for fun. I know it's not true, I was just having fun.

This is from 1977, and the stocks are coco bolo. On my "grail gun" list, it was at the top:

I have a 69C series that is too nice to mess with. I can't see the factory sights very well so I don't shoot it. I would not give it up though, it is a classic Browning. Everybody should have at least one.

Picked up three in the last three months. First was a HP Practical, sitting in the LGS used case for eight months. No visible use, with box and 2 mags. Second was a MkIII that I bought as a project gun, after the original user butchered the sear pin hole trying to remove the mag safety. Had it Cerakoted. The last was one I bought Thursday at another LGS; .40 S&W Vigilante, blue finish, and apparently NIB. I owned a couple of .40 S&W models a few years back, and foolishly let them go. These I won't.
