During the clean-up (see WWII letters post) I found an old cigar box that was used to store pictures, etc. It's an old walnut-looking wooden box that appears to made from balsa wood. Is there a site for collectors? I'd love to find out just how old it is.

Maybe Cedar? Thats what most humidors are lined with.
Don't have a site, a photo would be nice. I know we have a few cigar afficianodos on board.

All I can add is that the wooden cigar boxes I receive my cigars in are spanish cedar.

Spanish cedar is also the type of wood that my humidors are lined with........

Used to sell wholesale cigars here. Got tons of boxes lying around. Don't know of a site for collectors but that sure is an interesting idea. Can we get a pic?

I did a little Google research and found out it could have been made anywhere from the early 1900's until the 60's. However, the hinge puts in about 1906 but the latch is anywhere from then until the 60's. And the best part,it's worth about $40.00 Oh well...
