Any companies do custom work on new S&W?

Perhaps this question has been answered, or maybe it’s in the wrong forum. Apologies.

I often ‘dream’ about what my ideal version of a modern S&W would be. 1911s and ARs have this as an option.

My 686 snub would be a good platform. I’d want top-strap checkering like the old registered magnum. A brass bead front sight, and a wide target trigger and hammer.

Are there any reputable places that would do this sort of stuff? I know the price would be high. Just wondering if this custom work would be even feasible for a revolver these days.

Thanks.

If you are serious about that I'd give Dave Lauck a call.

The Home of Quality Custom Firearms, Tactical Training and The Tactical Marksman's Match...

Or Gemini Customs, if you want to get another opinion.

Thanks! I know about Gemini but didn’t know about Dave Lauck. Looks excellent. Thanks!

If I'm not confusing you with someone else, you reside in SE PA. If that is correct, you may wish to give Mark Hartshorne a call at Pinnacle High Performance. Being within driving distance can save you $100 or more just on shipping. He was in the Quakertown area (and his website may still indicate that) but I believe that he is now just north of Allentown on Rt 309. That's on his website, but you have to dig to find it.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

I have used "The Gunsmith" in Phoenix, Arizona for the past 40 years with complete satisfaction.

Nelson Ford only works on Smith & Wesson for Colt firearms. He knows what he is doing.

Dave is a great option. Have you looked at the S&W Performance Center? They can do all of these things without long delays or voiding the factory warranty.
