While I do like the CZ Pistols, I swear by the rifles, especially the small bores. I personally think you can find none better for the money.
What I own:
CZ452 Military Trainer 22LR
CZ455 American 17HMR
CZ455 American 22WMR
CZ527 American 17 Hornet
If you like the CZ line, I suggest looking at the EAA Witness pistols. The quality is outstanding and theit models were more what I was looking for. Less money also.
I have a Tanfoglio P18, the forerunner to the Witness, CZ75 clone. Fitted with a single action only trigger it is a great gun. Only problem is that the chamber is pretty tight and this gun prefers light (100 gn) and fast (1250 fps +) loads.
Unfortunately even 115/124/125 gn loads shoot very low. I got an adjustable sight for the Witness but the dovetail was too wide. The gunsmith I sent it to told me that any available adjustable sight would not fit due to the hammer position so I'm getting a new, properly regulated semi-fixed sight installed.
I still have a few CZs in the stable. A CZ P01 & CZ 75B. I used to have a 40P and a Compact but I stopped shooting 40 S&W and my sister in law liberated the Compact from me. They are excellent guns and I miss the days of $350 NIB CZs because most people had never heard of them. I am considering getting a CZ P10 once the initial hysteria dies down.
Got to handle a what looked like a P01 today at the funshow, but it was steel framed and not aluminum. Fit the hand beautifully but still too heavy for me to use for carry. Someday I may get to fondle a P01 Omega. We will see what that feels like weight wise.
Yes, but I keep winding up with "CLONES". Never had a genuine CZ. Latest 1 was from G.B. in December. Israeli Military/police surplus I.W.I. Jericho. It was un-issued. 40 S&W, steel. Not a mark on it. Feels great in my hand. Still will buy a genuine CZ if I get a chance. Bob
