I'm thinking about getting one to go with my M686 and M66. Any experience with this cute little critter? Thanks, Dennis

I have one and it is an excellent gun. The only problem I have found is that holster selection is limited. I ordered a custom holster fron Knulls which was not an issue since this is a carry gun for me.

My 3" 60 is the 60 Pro. I like mine a lot. It has a very nice trigger and is very accurate.

Yep, just the right size.

Ditto, my favorite revolver. I've got small hands so I could never manage the K frames too well. The 3" M60 is just right, Hi-Viz sights completes the package. The crown of my muzzle looked a little strange but it shoots well. long live the Mini-66!

I have both the 2 1/8" and 3" model 60 357's, and they are two of my favorites. I have limited my usage with these to 38's and 38 +p's, although I know some shoot a fair amount of 357's in theirs. They are great revolvers, and for their size easy to handle and accurate. wyatte

I think the 3-inch Model 60 is the finest lightweight trail gun made that can also be used for a concealed carry gun! I love mine! I carry mine most often in a Blade-Tech kydex holster. That holster is totally resistant to water, and is easily concealed if you are wearing a vest or lightweight overshirt or jacket. The adjustable sights make the 3-inch Model 60 easier to sight in for taking head shots on small game like grouse or ptarmigan compared to similar sized fixed sight guns. A friend of mine had the pro-series gun. I have the standard gun with the underlug. I actually prefer my standard model, but I think that is a matter of opinion. The pro-series gun is a bit lighter and more compact. I really like the wood grips that come on the pro-series gun, so I called Smith & Wesson and ordered a set for my gun. I have relatively short fingers and I find them very comfortable for shooting.

I'll be the party pooper. I got the 3" M60 specifically because it was the smallest gun with adjustable sights I could find and I was going to use it for a trail gun. I find it to be a jack-of-all-trades but master of none. With the larger grips the carry options are similar to a 4" K-frame but I'm a good deal more accurate with a K. Going down to compact grips I am not much better than I am with a 2" J, although of course I can move the point of impact. A 2" can be pocket carried, that extra inch on the 3" really gets in the way for me. On the plus side it doesn't lose much to the 4" over a chronograph where a 340PD I have is 150 – 200 fps slower to both with 158 grs. Keep in mine the velocity testing was with a limited sample of guns and ammo. The 3" stays home a lot and the 4" M66 has become a favorite. Looking at the posts above it may all be related to hand size. Even with all my gripes I don't feel like selling it. I know it must fill a niche somewhere, and it looks nice.

I love mine! I have S-M size hands and the Uncle Mikes grips do a great job on absorbing recoil. Shoot mostly 158 gr. .38's out of it and it's an accurate little bugger. My daughters also love it too and it's now my wifes CCW. It's a keeper!

Ditto the 'small hands' comments. I bought one NIB 12 years ago just because it was 'cute'. I have grown to really like it as my main carry gun while hunting or fishing. Mine is a Model 60-10. ........... Big Cholla

I have a couple of them. One prelock and one with the dreaded "safety" lock that was given to me..
I carry the prelock, but it had the rubbers on it and replaced them with a S&W wooden grips and a Tyler T Grip.
With a cross draw holster its a swell gun for day travel.

I have one, 2-1/8" fixed sights, and it's the one I carry most. 38 and 38+P no problems; I have shot 357s through it, and it is, ah, refreshing. (I carry it with 357s.) This one is for 25 feet, not 25 yards.

i have the pro series 3" & it has quickly become my favorite..not much available for carry holster as someone else mentioned..i fire 38s 130gr & 158gr wadcutters..havent fired too many rounds of 357mag, it's a bit snappy for these old hands..great balance..very accurate and DAMN goodlooking to boot!

I have a 3" model 60 as well; so does my brother. Mine is a .357 mag and his is .38 special. I'd just as soon have his because honest .357 loads are just too much for me in this little revolver. If I really need .357 power then my 2.5" model 66 goes along. That said, I'm not likely to get rid of mine very soon.

Have 3" Model 60 Pro. Excellent gun, shoot 357 Golden Sabres or Speer 135 gr SB. Very accurate and recoil is controbable.
