I hold Henry’s in pretty high regard, but I am wondering if anybody on here has had any personal experience with their lever .410’s? It would not be a hunting gun, more of a range gun and truck gun.

Thanks

Jumping in this thread to see where it goes. That .410 Henry is next on my list I believe. It's one of the few sticks they make that I don't have yet. Looking forward to others experience first.

The .410 loaded with Federal Personal Defense 000 buckshot would make a devastating defensive load. Would make an ideal truck gun and when loaded with slugs can reach out to 75 yards or better. Plus the small game and bird hunting options with .410 are nearly endless.

Henry may have developed the most versatile long gun in history. That gun will work for virtually anything, be it hunting or defending the homestead, Made in America or Not at All! Get one!!

I've heard the Marlin .410 levers are great guns and loved by their owners. They of course aren't produced anymore and are typically pretty expensive when you do find one. So I imagine that experience would probably translate to the Henry lever .410 pretty easily. I always thought it would be a really fun gun and useful for a variety of situations.

.410 lever release bolt action rifle

Some years ago I wrote Henry asking if
they were going to make a .410. Their
response was probably not.

I had been looking at and considering buying
a New in The Box Winchester, Marlin, or
Rossi .410. The Winchester and Marlin are
in the $1200 range, Expensive, but to me
worth it.

Now Henry has made a .410. A near by Big
Box Store got one in. I was bound and
determined to buy it ($749). Got there, found
it, and when picking it up, damn near ripped my
arm off, so Heavy and Clumsy feeling , not like
the other Brands of old. Pass.

I will just continue to use my inherited Western
Field Bolt Action, Magazine Feed .410. Slim, light,
handy, and Great for Hunting and Pest Control.

Sorry if I Hurt anyone's Expectations.

That is very much appreciated feedback. Do you recall if you handled the shorter or longer barrel?

Sighted Model

Fishwishin,
It was the Henry Model .410 H018-410R
with Sights and 20"Bbl.

20" Short Bbl is 7.33 pounds.
24" Long Bbl weighs 7.54 pounds.

Very well Made, Fitted, and Finished, but
the Weight and Clumsiness was a big turn
off.

I really like the Tube Load/Fed Magazine though.
Easy to use, and not the Hard to Push in Load'n
Gate.
