I've got some 800X leftover from when I had a 10mm glock. Anybody using it for anything else???

I worked up a load of 9mm mixed head stamp 124 Gr HP plated Rainer WSP Primer Max 6.5 Grains powder COL 1.169. I use lee powder scoops because it doesn't meter with my lee powder dispenser.

I haven't run it past a chrony yet. I functions 100% reliable in all my 9mm glocks and both of my SD9VE's.

Yes. I use it mostly for 12 gauge shotgun slugs that I cast. It also seems to work well for me in the quirky 5.7x28 FN since I can not find Ramshot True Blue anywhere. You are right that it does not meter well and I always weigh every single charge that I use. I'd buy more of it if I could find it.

I hear you about not finding any powder anywhere. I've been paying scalpers prices for any kind of powder. I never though I would be messing with WST for cast bullets in 38 special and 45 acp! Hell, I started using 800X on lark for 9mm.

I have used it for .380 auto - worked well - may have to use is for my next batch of 9mm if I can't find any more pistol powder to buy - I am down to about 1/3rd pound of IMR 700-X - just over a pound of IMR 800X - and maybe one and a half pounds of 4895/4198 for the AR. There was rifle powder on the shelves last time i was at the store - hoping there is still some next time I go, figure it is time to buy an 8lb jug and hopefully some sort of pistol powder.

I would try it with 165grain 40S&W too if I could find a recipie for it - the only ones I have seen are for projectiles I do not have.

More than twenty years ago, I did a lot of work with 800X using several cast bullet designs in the .45 ACP. While I came up with a number of accurate loads, I'm pretty sure other powders that flow better in a measure will do as well.

I use it as a target load in my .44 Magnum Contender, 10" barrel, open sights. I use 6.4 gr 800X and a 200 grain DEWC (from Rimrock Bullet Co.) Recoil is like a .38, and my groups average 1" offhand at 10 yards. And I'll get over 1000 shots per pound!

I discovered it because at the time, I couldn't find any Red Dot or Bullseye. I've since located both those, but I'll stick with this load for enjoyable, big bore paper punching!

It is awesome for full house 44 mag loads for my 629 v-comp. I think I load 15.5 grains of 800x behind a 180gn bullet.

Being a large flake powder it is basically un-meterable in my Hornady or Dillion power drop so I measure each load individually.

I have used 800-x in 12 Ga. lead and steel loads........

6" 38 and 357 loads.....
and the 38 snub nose 125 Jhp at 952 fps +P loading.

Some don't like it but I hand weigh all my loads, so no big deal.
Data is ok...........but a chrony sure helps when developing a load.

My best loads were in the upper end of the speed range with this powder and lead bullets should have a medium heavy crimp, with the 158gr bullets.

Two options would be Unique or Universal if you run out of powder.

My favorite 10mm(full power), and 44.magnum(at a bit less than full potential but the level I like in .44mag) and my preferred middle of the road .357 mag powder.

I love 800x

I am a regular 800x user. I use it for .357/.38 and for 45 colt. It produces very accurate loads. You need to weigh each charge but that is OK for me because I use a single stage press. I have a nice little digital scale and I can weigh each charge without much of a slowdown. I just bought 4# of it. It is certainly more readily available than Unique, and cheaper too.

I'm down to my last 4 pounds...use it for 10mm.
