They are great rifles. Buy one. It's only money and you only live once. Like everything else, prices on these just keep going up, so I say buy while you can.

I bought mine about 10 years ago and paid less than $100 for it. They have easily doubled in price since then.

I liked them a lot when ammo was cheap, had four of them at one time. They're all gone now but they are a very interesting design, kind of like something John Pedersen would design on a dare. When I had them you could get them for $80. I don't know what they go for now but you certainly can't buy anything else as well made for the price.

Great rifles , peculiar , but very well made. Fine Swiss quality ya know. Mine is very accurate. They've been kicking butt at antique military bolt-gun matches.

What is a K-31?

K31 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These are great guns and can be bought quite reasonably. Typical outstanding Swiss workmanship, great accuracy and very strong unlike the Ross staight pull rifle. Bores are chrome lined and the Swiss never used corrosive ammo in these unlike other military arms so the bores are normally pristine despite exterior finish. Even the Swiss surplus GP-11 ammo is considered match grade by many shooters. These are fun to shoot and as a previous post noted are at the top of the military surplus match shooting world.

:cool:I did it.. It's on the way!I will post pictures!

I have several K-31's and they are truly a work of art. For a good selection at one dealer, I have found Simpson's Collectors Firearms in Galesburg,Il. a superb source and they are very pleasant to deal with. I should say I have no financial interest in Simpson's other than the fact I give them money and get neat things in return. All my best, Joe.

They are a wonder. I got mine nearly 10 years ago, formed brass out of .284's and reloaded them with Nosler .308 match bullets (factory rejects). The results are shocking. Very near MOA groups at 100 yards with issue sights.

Staggeringly accurate for a general issue milsurp, even when hampered by my miserable marksmanship. There is a no-drill scope mount available, too. Don't forget to check the action screws before you shoot it or it will not group until warm. Guess how I know...:o

Had 3 of them at one time, down to one now. I have it scope mounted and it's my only "reach out and touch someone" rifle. Exquisite quality for not much money.

I think i still have 6 of these in the safe. With the swiss gp 11 surplus match grade ammo the k31 will shoot 3/4" groups at 100yds. Lets not forget these rifles were never used in battle so the wear on them is minimal. The swiss also lube the cams on the rotary bolt with moly too. The bolt will operate and function much easier too.

I also purchased the St.Marie accessories to build a target k31 too.( i hate the word sniper its not going to snipe at anyone but paper.)

The swiss quality is right up there with the swedish mausers and the finnish mosins and don't sell some the russian mosins short on accuracy either some of these can shoot decent too. Some russian mosins are as accurate as there sniper versions but didn't have scopes.
