Guys-

I have never seen one. If they exist, I would appreciate knowing. Would love to buy one if so!

Thanks so much for the Help!

Boy, I wish they made the MG with a square butt. If you are looking for the square-butt grip without going to an oversized or finger-groove style grip, take a look at the grips at this link: Smith & Wesson N or K frame conversion style pistol grips in Ivory Corian. - Custom Pistol Grips and Kits - CollinsCraftGrips.

I plan on getting a set of the round to square conversions because I like the feel of a set of magnas or some other frame-following square-butt N-frame grip, like the ones on the model 22-4 Thunder Ranch. I found a nice set of Jay Scotts similar to the thunder ranch grips, and put them on my model 28, and they are perfect. I think a 45colt MG with a set of the Collins Craft grips like the ones in the link will be just about perfect. Only way to improve would be if it had fixed sights like the 22-4 Thunder Ranch.

Sq. butt S&W MG

Howdy,

I have a square butt Model 25(I think model 25-13) that is chambered in .45LC. I would post a picture of it if I knew how. It is a cousin to my 25-5(also in .45LC).

Here it is.

The round butt frame is one of the several defining characteristics of the Mountain Gun series, so, no, there are no square butt Mountain Guns.

The MG configuration features a round butt. Ahrends makes beautiful conversion grips to give you a square butt grip on a round butt frame. Their workmanship is flawless, and they have a wide variety of woods and styles. I have them on all of my MGs and they handle as great as they look. If I wasn't a computer NITWIT, I'd post some pics.....

I put round to square conversion Targets from S&W on my 625 Mountain gun. The grips are a little thin for some people but feel fine to me.
