The only ones I have is one from a local tribe I worked at as a casino security officer. We had bought the plain ol' 7 point "Security Officer" stars you can order for about 20 bucks from Gall's, Quartermaster and other places, and we had the local trophy shop make us some enamel centerpieces of the tribe's logo to put in the center where the American flag seal was.

I also have an Oklahoma Centennial Peace Officer's badge that a dear friend of mine ordered for me. He knew I had wanted one, but I was a little down on my luck at that moment in my life. He bought it for me and it is still one of my most prized possesions to this day.

Kennyb,

Yes, authentic badges are getting hard to find. What area do you collect?

none in particular...from my own dept.i have various ones dating from the teens up to current (virginia) i have a few from neighboring jurisdictions...not a real big collection at all...of course have several that were issued to me and a cpl.from special olympics in the 90's i believe...i also have the sterling silver collection that was issued with display case from 15 or so years ago...these are repro's of famous western badges

I collect those from the North Bay Area of California. In fact, I'm going to a police collectors show this Sat. in Stockton. Hopefully I can add one or two more.

Trying to post pic, we'll see if it works. Looks like it did. In pic is 28 Texas DPS marked, .38/44 Heavy duty Austin PD with badge, 67 Engraved, and 581 nickle.

North Dakota Badges & Patches

Been collecting North Dakota Patches & Badges for some time now. More into patches. Have had a number of badges over the years. Here is a grouping from Ward County north of me.

I'm a bit of patch, pin and t-shirt collector, but never got into badges. I can see it being an expensive and some what risky venture. Risky in terms of getting ripped off with a fake or buying something that you probably shouldn't have.

I'm happy with the worn out, dull one I got at the end of the academy (for now).

I have two (2) very rare police badges for private consideration.

Both are brand new and never worn. They are, of course, lawfully owned and legal for sale.

If interested, PM me and I will provide details and photos. Serious inquiries, only, please.

Be safe.

I've collected for about fourty years. I've gotten insignia collections from all the countries that I've worked in. Mostly now I collect old Tennessee Highway Parol, from back when it was a state police, and USMS. The picture is my Colombia National Police collection at a badge show a few years ago. How come all my pictures show up as an "attached thumbnail" and not larger in the body of the message?

Most of my hobbies are expensive:). Badge collecting is much like gun collecting. You must do your research or you can get ripped off. In my opinion original Police badges are the greatest collectable item you can have. This is even better when it is coupled with a good L.E Issued gun.

I also have badges from the departments I've worked for, as well as the department I currently work for.
