Howdy,
Yesterday a acquired a RCBS Ammomaster press, Uniflow Powder Measure, Die Sets (.38, .40, .45, .44), several Die plates and the appropriate Shell Plates - all NIB. Purchased years ago and never unpacked, let alone used.

From what little I've found searching the web, it looks like this model was made for a few years then dropped for a new and improved progressive set-up. Any members use this press?? Thoughts, concerns, tips, etc?

I currently use a Dillon SQB for .45 ACP & Colt and .38s, but could not beat the price -- zero. Hey, you can never have too many toys, maybe I'll use this for rifle ammo.

Thank in advance for your input.......................

Regards,

Ranger,

I can't addess the progressive version but I've used a single stage ammomaster for years. To the best of my knowledge,it has the best height access of any.Because of that, the stroke is long and may seem tedious when using short cased rounds.

I load some rather long case cartridges and the window height of the ammomaster is a neccessity for me.It may not be for you.

I'm sure that you're aware that it was originally conceived for the 50 BMG.

I have two of these ammomaster presses.

The first is a final prototype and the second is a first production model. I set up the first to use small primers and the second to use large primers. Both have loaded hundreds of thousands of pistol rounds from 32S&W LONG to 454CASULL and almost every step in between those two.
I have had no problems with either press and have no plans to ever buy another progressive as both do everything in fine style.

Mine is my go-to machine. I bought it used. Was missing some small parts, called RCBS, explained the situation, they sent them to me free.

Extremely strong press. It will full length size the 50 BMG, and progressively load everything smaller down to the .32 ACP.

It's not perfect, but I love mine.
