Any real reason to choose Magpul GenM3 mags over GenM2's?

Same price, so does the new mag body really offer any advantage over the current 20 rd. version in an M&P10?

Two seconds on "Google" would've given you the answers you seek, so read the Video's "description" section for details.

Magpul Gen M2 MOE vs Gen M3 side by side. - YouTube

Thanks, but not really. The Youtube poster compares the two verisons of 30 rd. 5.56 mags, not the LR20's, and says they: (1) load easier (I don't have a problem loading the Gen2 LR20's); (2) have a "grippy" texture so he "knows he's holding it" (I'm not doing speed mag changes with the .308, and the Gen2's are "grippy" enough for me); and the floorplates are "different" (I'm OK with the current floorplates on the LR20's).

So, again, is there any real advantage specific to the new Magpul Gen3's in a .308 M&P10 that would cause me to buy one over the current version?

First off...ALL Magpul magazines load quickly and my Gen2's prove that.

Secondly, if you can shoot an M&P10 & watch the magazine round count at the same time, then Gen3 is for you. Other than that I can't imagine any difference other than Model Number, especially when the price is approx. the same.

My 2 cents...

vfin ***Gen3 Mags won't make you a better marksman, so ???

If the Gen 3's are the same price just go with them I dont notice any difference or pay any attention to which one I grab there all mixed together Gen 2's and 3's . If I remember I think the gen 2 in 556 had a problem with falling out of some lowers awhile back but I've never had a problem with these either.
Your lucky to find any ver of 762 P-Mags for a decent price right now.
556 are everywhere cheap.

I have both LR20 Gen 2 and SR/LR 20 Gen M3. The M3 is a more robust better designed magazine. It will not over insert into the magazine well with an open bolt. I will continue to use the Gen 2s, but I will use the Gen M3s when it counts. I also will only buy Gen M3s going forward. If you get it no explanation is needed, if you don't get it no explanation will be sufficient.

THAT's what I'm looking for - first hand intel. Thanks!
