Hey all,

So I found a shield for $320.00 today, gonna wait for the 10% off sale that's coming up in 2 weeks before i purchase it. I shot this gun before, really like it, so I was just wondering what experience you all have had on whether or not this gun should be good with no needed/needed upgrades. You see i owned a Bersa UC9, which was a good gun...but seems as soon as you bought it, you had to buy sights for it. and it's not as "Ultra Compact" as Bersa thinks it is lol

Thanks in advance!!

A nice holster and maybe some Tallon grips or a hogue grip. Not much needed imo. If your a trigger snob then an apex.

Ammo. Plenty of ammo.

Lots and lots of ammo. Extra magazines. Shoot the Snot out of it. The sights are good don't adjust anything, you might have to change your grip a lil from what you normally hold on fs pistols. Shoot, shoot, shoot, then come back and tell us how much you love this great pistol.

I guess I'm a trigger snob. I'd recommend an Apex Tactical hard sear and ultimate striker block.

Yup, as others have said - lots and lots of ammo and practice. And some tactical pistol training with a good instructor one-on-one. Check out IDPA too. If its your EDC then leave it stock internally (no potential legal issues). I put on a set of TruGlo TFO sights, very nice.

Don't know about the striker block but the hard sear is worth every penny. Seems some triggers are better than others. Some smooth up after say 500 rounds. Mine is at 865 round count and, in combination with the APEX sear, is a pleasure to shoot for a pistol that size. Other than that, expect the white sight dots to fall out. You can repaint them OR replace with the Truglo TFO which I really like. Good luck!

I just bought one a few weeks ago when I discovered they were available with out a safety...finally! I plan to change the sights to warren/sevigny competition rear and fiber optic front. The grips are a little slick for my taste too, so maybe some stippling or adhesive grips are in order. A few extra mags. Done.

I'm now a month and a half with the Shield. I see no need to change the sights. I'll just add some Glow-On. No need to lighten the pull of the trigger. No need to smooth the trigger pull. Maybe a different sear to change the take-up and over-travel. I'm seriously thinkin' about that. The grip is smaller than I am used to, and a bit slick. I have added a Hogue Handall Jr. grip. I have added a Pearce magazine extension to the 7-round mag. The 8-rounder is fine.

Yes, the sights are fine. I just have a preference.
