.If so I'd like your input please. I just looked at a Blackhawk 3 Screw .357 magnum with a 6.5 inch barrel .
It's in excellent condition with barely a turn line on the cylinder. It almost looks unfired or at least very minimal .
Screws appear untouched . I see no transfer bar so it looks to
be unconverted .

There's no box or paperwork and the original grips are missing and in their place are a very nice pair of what looks to be Herretts
.
The serial # reads 135942 but when I check Rugers website they say they have no record of such a # and I'd like some idea of when this was made.

The seller is asking $599 and may possibly be open to offers . From what I've seen that looks to be a pretty fair price .

I would appreciate any thoughts or information that you might have .

Sounds like a nice addition to any Ruger collection. Very good condition, and the price is right. If there is no hidden mechanical issue (unlikely), it's a good deal.

The 6.5" barrel is my favorite and makes the .357 pleasant to fire. As far as being a fan, yes, I am one. I've owned several in the past but find myself down to one .44 special New Model.

That's a good price. C3Ranger is correct about about the date.

You can get that information on the Ruger site, but you need to know where to look. When you get the "Sorry..." message, scroll down and select the model from the pop-up window.

This data is for the .357 Blackhawk. Ruger used a separate serial number series for each caliber back then.

I have a number of 3-screw Rugers, but only one .357 and I haven't shot it. If an "Old Model" hasn't been converted, you'll hear 4 clicks when you cock the hammer.

Ruger Blackhawk

I only have 2 Rugers. A 10/22 from 1967 and a Super Blackhawk from the same year.

The 10/22 is my only .22 rifle and is one of their best designs.

The Super Blackhawk is a great piece of work and I enjoy shooting downloaded .44 Mags and .44 Specials from mine right along side of my Model 29-2.

You won’t go wrong with a .357 Blackhawk.

3 screw Rugers are a favorite of mine especially the Blackhawks.
They handle nicely.
I had one 357 from '62 or '63 left that I bought yrs ago used.
I converted it to 45Colt a yr or so ago with some custom touches.
They make great shooters either way.

Just make sure the Conversion hasn't been done to it as BlackhawkNJ pointed out. That'll cut the value quite a bit.

That sound like a good price to me for one in that condition. I've got three-screw Blackhawks in .45 Colt, .41 Mag and .30 Carbine. I haven't found a nice on in .357 yet.

Yep

I'd be all over that. My Blackhawk is a 45 LC 5.5 in barrel and I love it. It's not old though, unlike me. HAHA

Yes, it is a buy at that price, especially if not converted. I have owned several .357's a Super Blackhawk .44mag and a Flattop .44Mag along with two ar three convertible single six's. The one I still have has 357 as the first three digits of the Ser. #. It is a 4 3/4" which is my favorite.

An original 3-screw .357 that hadn't been converted was on my "need to buy list" for quite some time. Satisfied that last year for more than your "opportunity" revolver. BUY IT QUICK!
Mine snuggles well with its brothers of other calibres.

Not a single action guy, but I do have my token BH 4 5/8” 45 Colt. Other than have a buddy that collected 3 screw BH, I don't know much about the different iterations. Being a fan of the 45 Colt, I had to have at least one BH so chambered. Even went out and bought a cowboy rig to carry it while hunting and going to Walmart. :D

My first centerfire revolver was a 4 5/8" three screw .45 Colt Blackhawk. I have owned a flattop .357, a three screw 6 1/2" .357, a New Model 4 5/8" .45 Colt, a NM Super Blackhawk cut to 4 5/8" and have had two three screw .357s converted to .44 Special.

The safe currently holds the cutdown SBH, the NM .45, a 3 screw .357 converted to .44 Special, wearing a 4 5/8" barrel and a 1st year flattop .357, left to me by my dad. There's also a 7 1/2" stainless Old Army with a .45 Colt conversion cylinder.

Uncoverted I would be a buyer at that price and condition. They are not making any more 3 screws... and that is less than a new one is selling for.
