Any thoughts on the old 22A versus the Victory 22?

I have the Victory 22 and really enjoy it, but I've never shot the 22A. LGS has one for under $200. That rear sight makes High Standards rear sights look small.... Any members out there that have both and can comment if worth picking up? (Besides the obvious of When in doubt, pick it up)

I have both and am selling the 22a to a fellow worker. The one complaint I had with the 22a was the plastic buffer they had for it. They kept cracking as all I shoot is CCI Mini Mags out of it. The Victory has a Poly buffer pinned to the frame I can also change barrels which I have. Does the Victory have some problems sure but nothing that can't be taken care of with help from the members of this forum and 3rd party manufactures. S&W wouldn't come out with a new gun if it wasn't better than it replaced. The only thing I would like to have had is the scope rail with the same sights it has now not just a notch. Maybe something in the future? Hint Hint

The 22A is a fine gun. Shoots straighter than most users. Mine feeds on what ever is available, and has been using the same buffer for well over 2 bricks. SW will change a gun to meet new and cheaper production techniques, same as every car dealer does. Don't know about the Victory. It looks like a Nambu and has good references.

I like the 22A, but I like the 22S better. I have had my 22S for ten years and its performance has been flawless. Not interested in the Victory.

Having been a owner of the 22A in the past who put around 8000 rounds thru it, I was very pleased with its performance but I never once have witnessed ratings for it similar to the ratings of the Victory model from any past survey on here. Having fired a new Victory I do believe its a more accurate target pistol for the price point. I believe the Victory is a new and improved model which is better built for sure.

Never shot the Victory but I have 2 22As, a standard and a Talo. both take the same mags, but one mag is finicky and doesn't like to feed in the Talo. Works fine in the standard gun
