Was curious, just took a look at their web site as we have one here in Winston Salem, NC....

:eek::eek::eek: - velly velly confused....no difference from Gander Mountain with all the same old overpriced stuff that Gander Mountain could not sell.........:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

As example, I just purchased a new 2.0 Shield 9 from LGS for
$400.00 out the door and he threw in two boxes of Speer Gold Dot...

Gander Outdoor's does not even show a 2.0 Shield 9, they show the 1.0 9 with a price of $499.00 plus tax. So the new management is just a stupid as the old management in MHO..

Hopefully they also will fail and we can get some new Cracker Barrel's in some places we need them....:D:D:D:D

The one by me (just minutes away) opened a couple weeks ago; I haven't been in yet as there isnt anything I "need" to have and didn't want to deal with the (actually) huge crowd they had opening day. In following their progress on FB, the interior here looks to be more like a warehouse store with goods more like Dick's vs an outdoors one with mounts, etc like they used to have.

The biggest reason for me to spend any time there will be when their range opens back up, as i did frequent it before. Besides that, unless they have something i want that's cheaper than Cabelas (also a few mins away), not much excitement yet for them.

But I'll still give them a chance; I shopped for years at their old location in the city as well as when they moved out by me...... i just prefer the ambiance of a BP or Cabelas if i'm wandering around a store like that. If i want a warehouse feel i'll go to my Costco.

I stopped going to camping world, and will not visit gander. When the head of a company picks political sides, he should be prepared to loose half of his customers.

I only heard about these places....

Hmmm
Never heard of it...

I only heard about these places when I came here. Then I found they had a Cabeles more than 1 1/2 hours away in Myrtle Beach. Went there one time and wasn't impressed. Then were going to build several big box sports stores here and had the names and their planned locations. We did get a Gander Mountain, but they closed a ways back. Didn't like that either. The guy behind the gun counter acted pretty shady and talked like he was running an operation out the back door when powder was scare. Cabelas and some of the others dropped plans to open here abruptly. I think they were just wanting to 'ride the wave' but when the wave seemed to be getting smaller, they changed their mind.
