Anybody have any experience with the Ruger AR 556?

I'm thinking about buying one to try it out. I know Ruger was a few years late to the party when it came to making an affordable AR but I'm intrigued. I need a backup to my Colt 6920. Thanks

0 experience with the Ruger platform, but if the price is reasonable, I'd say buy it. These days it's hard to say which one is better than the other. My favorite is one I built using a Palmetto State Armory lower and a LMT M4 upper. I set it up with a Timney gold trigger and it is a joy to shoot.

I bought one, and I love it! One caveat. Mine is finicky about Wolf ammo.

I read a post on another forum that said the barrels were not chrome
plated or melonite (sp?) treated so they might not be the best rifle
for steel cased and jacketed ammo.
