I am reloading 7mm BR for my Remington XP-100. I'm curious to see what others are loading for this caliber.
I am loading 139g and 140g jacketed bullets over 32g of W748.
Lucky for me that I bought 500 cases for this caliber a few years ago. They are almost completely unavailable now unless you want to form your own from .308 brass.
Thanks!

(PS: I have two extra dies for this caliber posted on the accessories for sale forum right now).

At present, I am loading 30.6 gr of H335 behind moly-coated Sierra 130 gr HPBT Matchkings. When I run out of those, I may start over unless I find some moly-coating supplies conveniently. I have lots of 7mm bullets, because in addition to my 7mm BR XP-100, I own a 7mm-08 H-S Precision 2000 VP (meaning heavy barrel "pistol"). I shoot 139 gr Hornadys in the H-S.

0 grain bullets.

These are all 100 yard groups, over sandbags, with a Burris 7X IER.

Tell me more about this Burris 7X scope.
One problem I have had is finding a suitable scope with at least 24" of eye relief, at a power greater than 2X.
When I shoot from the Creedmore position I need 24" of eye relief. Off the bench, it doesn't matter.

My friends and I are rifle shooters. The 6BR and 22BR cartridges we have been shooting for about 10 years have been fantastic. What the 6 BR boy are using is unknown to me, but in my 22 BR I've used H-335 & H322. At the long range distanced I like to play with, My twist rate is to slow for the VLD and Hybrid bullets in the 106 range (6mm) and 75 grain range (22) So I am using 1:14 with 50 grains in the 3800 to 4000 FPS speed and getting 1" +/- at 500 yards. The engineers at Remington really did themselves proud with the BR series of cartridges!

There was a load on the internet for 22BR with a 30 grain Burger bullet @ 4400 FPS. They claimed accuracy to be 1/2 inch at 100yards. I loaded some and played with it for about 20 rounds, and 1/2 was all it would do, I wasn't interested in cooking a good barrel for that poor of accuracy, but boy did it vaporize a pint water bottle.

For brass, Lapua makes 6 BR brass of very good quality. It has the small primer pocket and the extra small flash hole, that made 7BR so effective!

I'm stating the obvious here, but the LER's (at the time) were about 4X maximum. I needed higher magnification than 4X for load testing.

The relief is too short for creedmore, I believe. The only time I shot the gun creedmore was in competition with open sights.

It is frustrating that the highest power I can use for Creedmore type shooting is 2X. I did recently try a Leupold FXII in 4X. I *assumed* that it would be similar to the M8 EER series scopes that they replaced. But as I found out to my dismay, it had insufficient eye relief. Live and learn.
Off the bench, I shot tiny little groups with the 4X scope. But my main purpose is competition, not bench shooting. Still, with the 2X Weaver that I have on it now, I can still keep 4 shots within an inch at 100 yards. Not bad, considering I can barely see the target black at that range.

I have considered looking for a used Leupold M8 EER in 4X, but I am not sure of the eye relief of those scopes. I do have a 2x M8 on another gun, and it is fine. But eye relief decreases as power increases.

BTW, thanks for posting all those photos with load data and results!

I was shooting Remington 140g soft points, but they have been discontinued. I have started shooting the 139g Hornadays, like you.
