Obviously, Glocks can get slippery, but I put about fifty rounds through a 22RTF recently and it chewed up my hand. It makes me wonder how my hands would feel after a couple thousand round course over a few days.

How do you feel about the texture?

I like the fact that they reduced the finger grooves and the scalloped cut-outs make it easier to rack the slide.

I had the chance to fire the G22RTF when it first came out, and had the same experience as you (and I don't have soft girly hands!).

I'll stick with my standard Glock frames.

I experience no discomfort from my G22 with the new rough textured grip. I actually like it. Far less slippery than some previous models. It does almost feel like poly "sandpaper" but it didn't chaff my hands. It does sometimes cause "printing" as soft cotton cloth likes to stick to the texture when wearing under a shirt in concealable holster.

I bet it will irritate the skin on your body if you wear it close to you for CCW. I have had that issue with other really rough textured grips.

Great observation!

I imagine the rough texture would irritate if you didn't have the right kind of holster. Many IWB's don't include a barrier between the grip and your fleshy side. Plus, some IWB's have the option of "combat cut" that would eliminate the barrier to make it easier to draw the weapon. With these kinds of holsters, I'd be rubbed raw in no time flat.

My kholster IWB puts some leather between the grip and my body - otherwise, I am certain it would chaff the heck out my skin. Given the way the texture "sticks" to soft cotton cloth, a undershirt alone probably wouldn't be a good solution with most IWB's.

Yep, CC can be problematic. I really like my kholster and it address these issues for me, but each person's carry preference differs and the Glock's rough textured grip can easily be problematic depending upon carry style and holster choices.

For me, all things considered, I like the grips. But I can easily see how they could be a problem for some. A houge slip-on would solve some issues for some folks. My bro uses one for his Glock and likes it alot, but I'll keep mine just the way it is out of the box...

I don't carry mine, not yet anyway. If I do it will be carried OWB. If the texture creates a problem by sticking to clothing I think I would take a light abrasive to the grip's right side and knock down the tops of the texture. Should not be a big deal.
