I've had tinnitus for the last 42 years as a result of military service. And now my hearing is also getting worse, especially is situations with background noise. I'd be helpful if the ringing could be subdued, but I'm not a pill taker and hesitate to try Quietus, which is advertised to relieve ringing.

Anybody have experience with this claimed remedy for ringing in the ears?

I have the same problem and have watched their commercials which gave me hope. But after doing some checking on the Internet it appears that it's just another Medicine Wagon that rolled into town selling bottles of wishful thinking. Do a search in Yahoo or Google for Quietus complaints and you will get the info you need to make a decision. Free is not always free...especially when they ask for a credit card and start billing you.

Join the crowd. The Army did in my hearing. Something about gunfire, morters and granades at close range, and a couple of eardrums ruptured.

I have been seeing ENT docs for years regarding my hearing loss, and have some medical experience and training of my own. There is not much medically, or pill wise you can take to stop the ringing, on in my case buzzing. The otic nerve damage is already done. In some cases background noise or white noise may block it out. Basically, after awhile you just get used to it, and wear hearing aids.

I've had it for years. Both of my boys have it. 5" 38's started it. The factory floor sealed the deal. Also have hearing loss. I tried hearing aids but I hated fiddling with them and they were too dang expensive. I'm threatening to try some of those cheaper "turkey hunter" type hearing amplifiers. What do you guys think? Would they work? A couple hundred bucks apiece sounds a lot better than $2500 apiece! Have not tried the Quietus.

If your hearing loss was military connected the VA will pay for a hearing aid. Only problem what they offer is the turkey hunter type. My digital hearing aid cost over 2 grand and my government, which was so grateful for my over 20 years of service, paid exactly nothing for it. Now if I had of been a congressman, they would have footed for the expensive kind.

For me the ringing is always there. Sometimes, like right now, it's so low, I didn't recognize it till I read this thread. Sometimes like early in the morning, it's screaming loud. I have peripheral neuropathy. Currently it's just effecting "quality of life". One of the symptoms of this disease is tinnitus. My uneducated assessment in the tinnitus aspect in my case is blood pressure effects it. Every close friend I know has some level of "ringing", but every one shoots and was in the service. I notice my hearing in general gets worse as the day goes on. For instance I'll watch the news at night, turn off the T.V. and go to bed. Next morning turn on the T.V. to watch same news channel and T.V. is WAY too loud. I'm sixeytree yo.

I"m never alone with all the ringing in my ears. It's 24/7, constant to the point it sometimes drowns out other sounds.

The Army started it, and it's gotten worse over the 40 years since I've been out.

The Va recognized it on my discharge but wouldn't pay me comp for it. Now. it's lots worse and I'm back with the VA fighting for comp, which they are reluctant to pay for some reason.

I've heard of no treatment that helps.

The USAF caused mine, Jet Engine mechanic. After 45 years of the Tinnitus getting louder and louder, I contacted the VA, and they qualified me for a $123 P/Mo VA Disability and hearing aids, as well as all the batteries, tubes and tips needed. The Hearing Aids are the newer behind the ear, programed kind, programed for just your specific regions of hearing loss. I'm hearing thing I had not heard in years. When they are in, the Tinnitus is "subdued", but still there. Unfortunately when you remove them to sleep the Tinnitus is still there. It's hell some nights when you wake up to relieve yourself at 2 AM and then can't get back to sleep because of the @#$%@# ringing in your ears.

I can hear much better, the Tinnitus is "reduced" in the daytime, the $123 buys a lot of ammo. don't have any other choice but to live with it.

When I was being fitted with my hearing aids, I asked the Dr. about Quietus, and she said to put it in the category of "Spray-on-hair".
