anybody use these .44 cal bullets

I am new to reloading for the .44 spl. I was wondering if anybody has ever ordered bullets from this company or have used the .44 185 Grain Double Bevel Base Wadcutter.

I am reloading for my new S&W 396 NG with new starline brass and unique and W231 powder.

Looks good to me.

Although I have not tried the Penn Bullets, the idea of a DBWC in .44 Spl sounds good for short-range shooting (up to about 25 yds) for plinking, target practice , small game and even self-defense against human assailants. For longer range and/or larger objects I would want a heavier SW or LBT style.

The 185 gr. DEWC was a tackdriver in my old S&W 1950 44 target. I used to cast them from a Lyman mold and shoot them with light loads of Bullseye powder. It has been a long time since I used them so the data is long gone but I would imagine that you could find data for either Bullseye or Trail Boss on the Hodgdon website.

While I haven't used Penn's .44 bullets, I do use them in a .38 super, .45, and .38 special. They are very good quality, reasonably priced, and accurate.

+100. I've used Penn Bullets for 25 years in 38/357, 45ACP, 45 Colt, and 32-20. Excellent product, and Bob is a super guy.

I'm new to reloading for the .44 Special as well. I bought a large (probably lifetime) supply of 240gr. JHP bullets from a forum member at a good price. My research has since shown that you really want to stay with cast bullets for the .44 Special as much as possible. I've loaded a small quantity of these with a charge of 7.5gr. of Unique and need to test fly them. A report will follow.

I use Penn bullets exclusively. You need to know that sometimes delivery may be slow because Penn i s a very popular line. You will get your bullets and if you have to wait it will be worth it. Super product.
