wasnt there, but did watch it on TV,,,some with flying cars twice, amazing the drivers were not hurt, a tribute too the way they are built

I would not have wanted to be sitting close to the fence when Edwards hit it

Stuff was flying everywhere.

I was watching on the tube, as well. That last lap crash was scary, no wonder they don't let fans stand next to the fence!

Carl ripped NASCAR I assume for rules that he thought contributed to the accident. What aspect of the rules is he talking about? Just the nature of restrictor plate racing? Is he saying that more power would not make the cars running in draft lines like they do?

I bet the fans got showered with glass as the winshield contacted the fence.

Caught the replays ... I've never seen 400 people flinch simultaneously. Wild.

Aren't they using Lexan windscreens instead of glass these days?

I'm no expert but I think it's been years since glass was used in any serious race car.

Yup I was there, just got back this afternoon. I was not near where the accident occurred. Those are some big fences and poles. If I had to guess, I would think that when he hit the fence, various fittings and such took off like buckshot.

It was a great weekend weather wise and lots of good food. I got to the DCM and got a case of carbine ammo on order and a couple of mags.

I've got to poop!

I bet the fans behind the fence were thinking the same thing. I would have been. I probably would have been doing more than thinking it.
