Another plane crash

What mojave30cal said. No flare, so how fast was that landing, and what was rate of descent? It looked like a crosswind tipped him left side up so the right main gear took all the force of the landing, some of it sideways.

Spoke with my brother yesterday (Retired Delta Captain) about it. Some things to consider. Likely multiple factors contributed. (Also my nephew is first officer on regional jets and my cousin is international Captain for United)
-That plane model has very low wings. Likely caught the wing tip on ground.
-Conditions of winds. Cross winds of 40 mph + are at the threshold of safely landing.
-Was Captain or First Officer making the landing. They often switch take offs and landings on regional jets when multiple stops are scheduled throughout day. First officers must have 100 hours in type before landings. Often first officers are less experienced.
-Rate of descent and airspeed. Early reports indicated slower that normal airspeed and higher than normal rate of descent.
-hard landing. One passenger described it as “forceful”. Video
appears so.

Fortunately the fuselage didn’t break up and all survived. A miracle.
