Friends, I have interest in purchasing one for light target load shooting. Perhaps take it out on a nice day deer hunting (?), once I get acclimated to it. I am thinking 300 rounds single action on paper at 10, 25 and 50 yards for familiarity. Another 200 practicing; followed up with about 50 rounds per month until next spring.

Does anyone own one and have thoughts/feedback overall; along with, any feedback on shooting at the range, et cetera?

Thanks in advance. --TH

Time is going fast and I thought these were released in 2020--however, it was released in 2021--which may explain the pricing from my LGS (significantly more).

Nothing scientific or that I can articulate, but I have a good 'feeling' about these after watching some videos online and handling one about a month ago. Think I will try it out and just jump in.

Will update as the story unfolds. Until then, best to you and yours.

I would be very interested in a 4” version. No news of that yet….

I wanted to purchase one last month but my wife totally disagreed !

One of the local shops got a 6” Anaconda in and a 4” Python. I bought the python and another customer was buying the anaconda at the same time. I didn’t get to handle the anaconda because I didn’t want to turn loose of the python but the anaconda looks just as nice as the python. Actually I’ve been thinking of buying an anaconda, if I could find one, just for 44 special loads. I don’t hunt and my wrists won’t take magnum loads anymore so all it would see from me is mild 44 specials.

Actually I’d love to see a 5”. 5” seem to me to strike a nice compromise between 4 & 6 and balances well. Anyway I have a 4” nickel 29-2 which would be hard to beat.

Actually I’d like a 5” anaconda in 45 LC.

Just to be a contrarian, won't deer season be over by next spring? :)

I'm another who might be interested in one with a 4" barrel. What can I say. A 4" barrel revolver is almost a fetish with me.

I didn't get to see it, but talking to my buddy at the LGS, he told me they had gotten one in (at the time). It sold almost immediately for $1700.00. IIRC the MSRP was $1500, so I didn't think $1700 was really way out of line.

The local dealer that had one and the python I bought sold them for $1420. He got another python in a week ago and sold it for $1700.

I got one a few months ago, and love it! It’s a real beauty, and a beast…!

Had a choice between a 6” and 8”, and went with the 6 incher. The big snake has a very nice action, with a great double action pull, and good single action, as well. Beautiful semi polished stainless steel, and there’s some good meat on the bones; it’s rugged.

Would have preferred wood grips, but the rubber Hogue’s work well. The gun balances nice for a large gun, and shoots great. I think Colt has a winner with this one!

I have yet to see one in a gun shop here in PA, and have been to a few... On line, everything I have seen is way over retail. I will buy a 6 inch version, but will wait for better price/availability. If they are as nice as the new Pythons I have handled, it's a sure bet. In the meantime, I have enough .44 mag revolvers to get by...:)

I have a new Anaconda and am pleased with it.Accuracy is very good with my heavy cast bullet and a stout load of 2400.I prefer it to my older Anacondas. The only dislike is the poor excuse for a rear sight they have decided to use.An Ellison it is not.I have since added an 8 inch and have done some testing with it, seems to be on par with the 6 inch. FWIW I paid 1499.00 for 3 of my Colts and 1420.00 for 1, you can find reasonable prices with a little bit of time and effort. I ordered one of my Pythons from Sportsman`s Warehouse, signed up on line, I was notified a month later and bought it online. They called a week and a half later to pick up my revolver, pretty straight forward process.

I haven't seen one yet. Found one online for $2,200. Not happening. I've got my eye on the 6" model. You did good, Dave from Pa.

I am still waiting for a python to show up in a local gun shop. I would buy them both if they were anywhere to be found.

I examined one closely a few months back and might of bought it for MSRP but passed at $2500. It seemed pretty much how I remember the original ones were. There ok .

I bought one of my Pythons from Sportsmans last spring for MSRP ($1499.00). It was just that easy. Sigh up to be notified. Got notified a few weeks later. Ordered it. Wife and I took a day trip out to Roanoke (closest SW store to us) and picked it up a few days later. First time I've ever bought a gun like that and to be honest, I was expecting a hassle, but they surprised me.
