finally handled one today for the first time. not a bad feel to it. i've been thinking of a small pocket pistol for a while for certain "social" occasions where a belt gun is too big or too obvious. thanks. lee

I had one but my hands were just too big for it. The one I had was very accurate and performed flawlessly. It certainly is a handy pistol, easy to always have it on you.

I had one but swapped it for a bg380. The bg fits my hand better and I like the sights better. I also like the option to use the manual safety. However, I was very pleased with the LCP overall. They aren't target guns but at close range they're accurate enough.
Sir, a buddy of mine had one, which I shot a bit. His worked well with premium hollowpoint ammo, but not with cheap FMJ range fodder.
I personally found it an unpleasant little gun--lousy trigger, teeny-tiny sights, sharp recoil, and not much to hang onto. Would make a nice key fob, I suppose.
My buddy ended up trading it for a Sig .380. I forget the model number (looks like a miniature 1911), but he likes the little Sig much better.

I have one that I carry during warm weather. I took it out again today and ran about half a box through it. At 25 feet, it kept all within about 3 inches. I have big hands so I think that affects the accuracy to some extent.
Overall, I am pleased with it.

Really most of the people I know that have them rave about the trigger, they all say it's probably the best factory trigger out there today. Now with that being said I have personally not had the opportunity to shoot one, but that's more my doing, I won't ask to shoot another man's iron, if it's offered I'd be more than willing.

I had an LCP that I had won at a Friends of The NRA Auction.
It was just one of a number of items contained in a "mystery box" that I bid on.
We had a Kel Tec P3AT for some time prior to the LCP so even though we didn't need the Ruger I gave it a try.
For some reason my wife & I both prefered the Kel Tec so the Ruger was sold off.
I never asked my wife why she liked the P3AT more than the LCP but for me I liked the rougher texture of the Kel Tec because it gave my bigger hands a better overall grip on the gun. Your mileage may vary.

I carry a LCP every day as a BUG.
I'm either carrying a Commander 1911 or a Glock 19, but the LCP is still in a pocket holster of my vest.
Accurate and reliable gun, the LCP.

Mine works great either IWB with the clip or in a pocket. Completely reliable and more accurate from my hands than a J-frame. I carry Double Tap 95-gr ball which does just shy of 1k fps from this little thing. S&B 92-gr ball does as well, and I have that in one back-up mag.

I have one and carry it daily.I would recommend it without reservation.In a GALCO pocket holster it a compact package.Mine works with anything I feed it and accuracy is more than acceptable.
The LCP I had was a finger-pincher. It shot well enough, point of impact was close enough to point of aim, no reliability problems... just pinched my trigger finger badly on every shot. 
It had to go. I replaced it with a Bodyguard, which seems to shoot and function just as well, is maybe a bit bulkier, but is much more comfortable to fire. Sights are much better too. Wish they made the gun without the laser, but...

I posted on the "First gun in 2012" thread in the Lounge and detailed my reasons for purchasing the LCP.
Today I went to the indoor range to shoot it and fine tune the laser sight, if needed.
First of all, I had a Kel-Tec 32 when they first came out, then got the 380. Both worked fine, but felt a little...cheap.
I sold the 380 several years ago.
When I decided I wanted something small (I won't repeat all I said in the Lounge about the search), I got the Ruger LCP with the nickel, engraved slide.
I shot it today. The slide, at first, was almost impossible to pull back to load. Two mags later, it was fine.
The trigger was very, very heavy, though I could keep the bullets in a fairly small group, off hand at 21 feet.
Four or five mags later, the trigger seemed to "relax" and was pretty decent. I expect more shooting or dry firing will make it even better.
As I said, the accuracy was good, and, really good, with Hornady Critical Defense loads.
But, the recoil is really noticeable. Less so with the Hornady rounds than with PMC fmjs. 65 rounds was really enough for me. I have artritis in my hands and right thumb to the point I no longer can cock the SAA or Ruger Single Actions and the recoil bothered me a bit.
I plan to carry it as a "always there" gun even when I am carrying my 642 which I almost always, every minute, do.
In the gloom and pretty dark indoor range, the CT laser was really better, I thought, than the CT grips I have on my 642.
For a close up, really need it now gun, this LCP seems to be just what I was looking for.

My first LCP had so many problems Ruger replaced it (went back twice) with a brand new LCP. Thus far I've put 500 trouble free rounds through it and carry it as my wardrobe needs dictate. It is a bit smaller than the BG and I picked it b/c of that, and the fact that I did not want a laser. The Federal HydraShock HP work well as does all other FMJ stuff I've shot. Best of luck w/your decision.

I carry one and love it. I've fired several hundred trouble free rounds with it. It hits to the point of aim. Last week, I killed an oppossum with it at about 15 yards. It fits well in my front pocket, and as been said uncounted times before, it sure beats a 45 I left at home.
