I've had my Chief's Special .45 for a few years and love it. Very surprised that the little CS45 Smith & Wesson make never took off in popularity.
I just can't find anyone else around here who owns one.

I'd like to know who all out there besides me owns one and if it's CC choice and what you think about it.

Oh, Finding holsters listed for it are hard to find but my Fobus holster for an old Ruger P94 that I no longer own - fits it very well.
I cut an inch or so off it's length to be flush with the end of the barrel and it's a perfect fit.

You're right - you don't see many...

I'm looking for a DAO version myself - any caliber...

I own 2 blued cs-45.I recently qualified with it at my old law enforcement agency. I carry it in a fobus # sg-21 paddle stye holster. I love it. I choose this weapon over a simular glock # 30. I am a .45 cal lover. I carry it with the 6 shot magazine and also carry a 7 shot magazine from my 4516-1 in an old buck knife holder on my belt. I have even carried it my thunderwear in-side the pants holster. It is a accurate and very reliable weapon. Enjoy!

I bought one a year ago because my nickname sometimes is "Chief". It's the TDA model in alloy and stainless and I LOVE it. It seems to fit my hand perfectly, easily shoots arrow straight to at least 25yds. and has NEVER failed to digest any ammo I've fed it! It cost me $475.00 OTD and I plan to use it to qualify for my CCW permit just as soon as I have the "buck-fifty" to pay for the manditory class as required by the state. You don't hear too much about them but I think they are standard against which all compact .45s should be measured. The other day I was at the range and as is always the case, I had alot of interest in the lil' brick. Everyone really likes the look of it. It's a true classic...enjoy!

Hi everyone.I have my Chief's Special 9mm for carry and love it.This is for the gentleman who is looking for one in 45 cal. This supplier bought out the inventory of NIB CS9 and CS45 when they went to LEO where I bought my Chief's Special. Here is the link http://www.gunsamerica.com/943949880/Guns/Pistols/Smith...acp_NIB_Closeout.htm .The only complaint I had with my CS9 are the factory Hogue rubber grips which have a tendency to print under clothing. This problem is more acute with the 45 version because the frame is chunkier but there is a solution.Big Dog makes a Delrin custom grip that fits the CS45 perfectly. They were the inspiration for me to me to be" The Chief Special 9mm grip Crash test dummy"and have the first set for the 9mm.Midway sells extra magazines and parts for the CS 45 also........Hope I helped and May God Bless......Mike

I have a concealed black nylon holster that looks like a "crackberry" hip case that I picked up at a gunshow that works very well with the CS45 and two mags. The CS9 and CS45 are exceptional pocket pistols and I think the unique names worked against them, as many gundealers believe that all S&W's are identified by model number. Many good dealers did not even know these guns existed and thought I was crazy calling a Smith a CS9 or CS45 so they refused to order them for me. The fact that they were not included in some dealer catalogs did not help. I got a gun shop in Cleveland, Texas to order mine.

I agree with Cruser RN about the Delrin grips that Big Dog makes. Makes the CS9 MUCH more concealable. I am sure the same holds true for the CS45 Delrin grips.
Cruser RN has posted photos. Do a search if you want photos.
Big Dog is a pleasure to work with.

Right now my CS 45 is my only off duty carry, haven't been able to get to the range to get a few more on the list. I carry mine in Andrews Custom Leather McDaniel II that I got for my bigger Smith 1066.

Hey CS owners - the S&W website lists some spec's for the CS's but not all I'd like to know.

Without measuring myself - does anyone know the following I'm missing about the CS45?

Height:
Width:
Length: 6.5"
Weight: 23 oz's empty
