I haven't been this excited for a movie to come out for a long time! Generally I don't like the whole going to the movies scene, but I'll be there for this one. I suppose it helps that the guy the movie is about, Chris Kyle, is my wifes cousin. I sure wish I could've met the guy... What do you guys say?

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie with my son..... I think it opens mid-January in my area.

Got the book for Christmas. About half way thru it. Not much for going to the movies. So far the book is straight forward....this is what I did, this is how I feel about it, if you don't like it too bad for you.

I am excited to see it. I'm working on the book at present. It is fairly straight forward and an easy read. The move should be good, too. Clint Eastwood made it, and Taya Kyle, Chris Kyle's widow, said the movie got it right.

The book is excellent. Sometimes movies like that bother me so I'm still undecided about seeing it. Visual representations can be pretty intense.

Yes, I am looking forward to seeing this movie. I just hope it's as good as expected.

I had the same anticipation for the Lone Survivor movie, but it was so bad that I advised every SEAL I know not to see it. It would only make them mad.

I for one am excited about the movie and will definitely go see it.

A member above stated that "Hollywood usually messes up most stories." I agree with him in part but also realize it has to be pretty difficult to squeeze most historical accounts into a two hour or so movie. A good example would be the movie "Lone Survivor" - a true story but the movie definitely has segments of the story fictionalized that differ from the book and post operational reports. Peter Berg, the director of that movie, went to great lengths however to make sure it was done right and give those that were involved in the actual operation their rightful place in history while gaining praise from the SEAL's family. If Chris Kyle's family said the producers got it right and with Clint Eastwood involved, it should be very good but I personally believe the best way to come to a true historical conclusion is to read the book, see the movie and research the story as much as possible.

Chris Kyle

Loved the book, only see a couple movies a year at theatre but this will be one of them. Clint Eastwood is a favorite actor and in my opinion a pretty classy director.

I'm sure looking forward to this. Plus, they took some training with ITTS. Mr. Eastwood is simply The Man!

I am looking forward to seeing it. I hate that it and the book now have the cloud of skepticism surrounding the story as fallout from the lawsuit. I think Chris is a hero and story true enough so that embellishments did not have to be made in order to promote it.

I remember seeing Chris on O'Reilly talking about his book and the whole Ventura thing. I thought, this guy is what makes America great. Then watching his funeral on TV, Dallas aired it on TV. Hearing people talk about Chris and realizing what a class act this guy was. Interesting side note, the movie opened in select theatres Christmas day (4 or 5) I think and pulled in a little over a million dollars. :)

I have a loaned signed copy to read in hand. Can't go to movie theaters for medical restrictions. I'll read the book, and buy the dvd to watch.

Spent the day with docs today. Not sure what this new year will bring for me, but I'll wish the best for everyone here!
