Anyone else suffer from "Accumilius Twentytwous"?

Mind you I have many more of these. This is just a sample of the diversity of this "disease". These little creatures lurk in all the usual places. Primarily I seem to contract these viruses at gun stores and shows, not to mention Walmart. If you also are so afflicted, may I see the extent of your disease?

I have a Remington commemorative box, sealed from year 1979.

Actually have 2, but I shot the ammo in one (back then), and I use the empty can for gun tools.

I accumulate handguns more than the ammo. I own several S&W's, a pre 18, 63, 650, 317, two 622's, two 2206's, 2213, 2214, a Beretta 950bs, and have a Ruger standard and Colt Woodsman Sport on lay-a-way. My least favorite .22 handgun (for everyday carry) was a Walther TPH, my favorite was a Astra Constable.

I could see how collecting .22 LR ammo could be a hobby in itself. At one of my local gunshops the owner has an "odds and ends" ammo box with all kinds of random .22 LR in it, boxes of Sears brand , old Chinese stuff, enough to keep a .22 fanatic busy for years in there.

Gun shows are good too, there's always at least 1 "random old ammo" guy with Remington-Peters and other old stuff. Almost always some random .22 in there.

Just be thankful you have not found the bug for accumulating Eley Tenex, RWS R50, and Lapua Midas, at $15-19 a box it can get pretty darn expensive. Two bricks of R50 will barely get me through the summer BR season.



I have an ammo can around here somewhere just full of high end target grade ammo, mostly for ammo testing a new .22s. When I find out what the rifle likes I'll buy as much of it as I can afford. I try to keep 2 bricks of good target ammo on hand for my match gun and I have a half dozen or so bricks of the cheap standard velocity stuff for plinking. I don't buy any high velocity of copper washed .22lr, my rifles just don't shoot it well.

I don't have pic capability yet , but I must admit I am a ammo hoarder so to speak because I can get lost plinking and end up 1to 2 thousand rounds empty and maybe do it again the next day . Its a disease , but hopefully the CDC won't come up with and cure !

I don't want to go through the shortage period again and not be stocked enough to get through.

That said, I mainly keep up the stock of CCI SV for the target pistols, and then any of the other hi-velocity loads for the .22 rifles and revolvers.

One of my latest unintended acquisitions was a Christmas gift from my brother in law of a some .22 tracers.
I don't know what I will shoot them out of for fear of barrel damage (just my fear, maybe not a reality), but they'll be fun to mess with some late evening one day in the future.

Don't have a clue as to brand. My B.I.L. gave them to me in a coffee can with a couple of hundred inside wrapped up in tissue. He didn't say, but I think he ended up with them because of a friend of his who passed away recently and was into guns of all sorts.
The can of tracers was actually sort of a gag Christmas gift that we often do at that time. The more "stuff" everyone gets to open up on Christmas morning, the more fun it is.

I was surprised myself because I also didn't know that tracers were made in .22.
Do a google using ".22 tracers" and you'll get quite a few hits for sources. If these turn out to be fun, I may just get some more to have around for the fun of it.

never enough

Walked into a gun shop last week, they had the Fiocchi sub sonic 38 grain rounds for 19 a brick of 500. I enjoy the sub sonic ammo and it works well and groups great.

I took everything he had. He only had 7 bricks available. Went on the shelf for the next range day.
Always nice to have an extra 30 or 40 bricks on hand for plinking.

... I don't keep track of how many 22 rounds I burn up of the good stuff.
I do know that with nieces, nephews and a grandkid the 550 round Box-O-Bullets are bought by the case.

Thanks for clarifying my illness. I accumulate mass amounts. I accumulated 2- K22s, a pre 34 Kit22, a M41, 4- Rug Targets, aGSG 1911, 2- 1022s, a Marlin bolt and TCC match carbine just to only to dispose of almost every outing.

I admit to having a urning for .22 rimfires also. I've collected many of the brands already shown including a cartoon of Super X hollow pt. LR in the yellow box with red x and have a carton Remingtons in the red and white box. My weakness has even moved up to .22mag(more$$).
17-4..41..53..Single 6..Colt New Front... 10-22..Win. 52Sport (Jap) Taurus 941...10-22mag. Would like to add a kit gun someday. I can't help myself either.
