Anyone for a BIG cup of "Unintended consequences" ?

First: one has to ask were the consequences unintended?

Second: If what potentially could happen does happen, this shows the problem with legislation by emotion. Its the "something has to be done" mentality without thinking the issue through.

"Do-something-itis" is THE disease of the 21st century.

Based on the current wording, the proposed act seems very "open ended" and seemingly would lead to court interpretation on a case by case basis.
This would, IMO, then lead to varied decisions depending on each state and judge where a case may be heard and would likely end up at the circuit level or even the USSC.
And bankrupt someone with legal fees even if found not guilty.
