I would like to see pictures of a Mountain revolver, one of 5,00 guns, product code 103652, circa 1989. It has a lightweight barrel, frosted finish, and a chamfered cylinder. I'm curious to read what type of grips this gun shipped with. Any more info regarding style of hammer, trigger and sights is appreciated. Thanks.

They came with Pachmayr rubber finger groove grips, never liked them.

For shooting mine now wears the X-Frame grips.

macbullet-- thanks, I see it has a red ramp front sight. Can you describe the rear sight for me? ( is it all black or white outline) also please tell me about the width of the hammer and trigger if you don't mind. Also, is the trigger smooth or serrated?
Rick

I changed out the front ramp from black to red ramp and the rear sight to a white outline. I have the original parts and can replace them should I get the urge. Hammer is .400" wide and the trigger is smooth and approx. .325" wide (hard to get a decent measurement without taking it out).

macbullet,
Thank you for the answers to my questions. You have a very nice collection of 629s. I bought a 629 Mountain Gun off the Internet this morning without seeing it in the hand. I forgot to ask the salesman a few basic questions and now you've answered them. I wasn't sure if the gun shipped with Pachmyer combat grips, now I see that it did.I was also curious about your red ramp front sight as I didn't think it was original. Best regards--

Never liked the pachs that were it and these round to square conversion help recoil of the heavy loads...It's still my favorite Mtn. Gun

I have a Mountain Revolver BDV94XX, purchased it from an estate and the Pachs had been left on the gun since new and gun never fired left in safe, and I purchased this gun in 2005.
The rear of the gripframe beneath the hammer is pock marked with a black material. Looks like Hell. Threw the Pachys away and put on a Hogue wood.

You mentioned "1 of 500." My 629-2 Mountain Lion is one of 500 Mountain Guns made with a somewhat crude lasered graphic of a guy fending off a mountain lion with a revolver. I bought mine in new condition but without the original box so I don't know the product code. Is there any chance you might have one of these?

I have one of the originals, a 629-2. It too had the Pachmayr grippers originally. It has worn rubber Hogues since a few minutes after I got it home. frosted stainless, round butt, black sights, it's the middle gun in this pic, framed by a 686+ Mountain Gun and a later 629 Mountain Gun.
