I've only seen pix of early Morseth knives, but hope that you get some more meaningful replies, preferably with nice photos.

morset

I don't know if I can help but I have one and the info that came with it, it was made buy steve morseth when harry was turning the shop over to him.

Have a stag handle (3 piece ) skinner marked Morseth horizontal along the blade bracketed by a date 19 on one side of the name and what appears to be 39 on the other side.

I know the A. G. Russell versions in later years were marked similar, wondered if his early ones were so marked.

No S. Initial and no Mark's from the Norway steel company.

Sorry photo posting crashed with the Photobucket mess.

I found a picture of a early morseth that was marked with the name parallel with the blade. And I believe that the brusletto marking started about the time your knife was made. If you could post a picture of your knife it would really help.

I am posting the picture of the knife in question for my friend and our forum brother, Lawandorder. I was going to try to research these a bit, but it was one of those Monday’s and I have not gotten back to it. I do believe they had a connection with AG Russell at some point and he was a prominent knife maker.

Anyway here is the photograph. Simply click to enlarge.

PS. Look what I just found on Amazon.

Early Morseth and Sheath

I have a stag handle Morseth made by Harry Morseth in 1950, and I can identify the age as I obtained it from a good friend who bought it new.
It has the original Safe-Lock sheath. Here are a couple photos, as well as several Morseth ads from that same time frame. One ad lists this knife for $18.00.
