Was looking at some pics of other's M&P 15s and noticed a few that had the Magpul BAD...anyone have any experience with these? Pros? Cons? Does it fit well on our guns? Thanks for the input!!

I just put one of these on my Del-Ton Ar and I really like it. I think I was a little excessive in buying it, I don't shoot competition or hope to be in conflict any time soon. I do like the function it provides and it works as advertised. I see the benefits mostly in the event of a malfunction, I'm able to keep the muzzle down range while locking the bolt to the rear. By keeping the right hand on the the grip, the gun naturally points at the target and has less tendency to stray as it would it I had to start moving hands around to operate the bolt catch. I like it a lot, it's probably one accessory that has a good function for the cost.

By the way, you finally caused me to divulge that I purchased a "non" S&W AR. Yes, its a new Del-Ton 5.56. Sorry guys, I just got a whale of a deal. I did want to come clean abut it. I read all the reviews on it and all were five star. Had I more cash to work with I would have gotten a S&W 15, but it's just the way it turned out. I hope you all understand. I do have lots of other S&Ws though, even a 15-22.

It's on Amazon for $25....guess it wouldn't hurt to try it out and go from there. I never thought about the benefit it could add in a malfunction situation. Thanks!

Got mine day after thanksgiving from Primary Arms. Really good deal. I put it on my M&P15 Sport. Tight fit near the receiver and I think it is rubbing a bit but the functionality works great. You can keep your grip and everything is controlled from your trigger finger.

Worth the money.

Has anyone else seen the BAD lever with the clearance problem I'm speaking of?

Padre we dont discriminate unless someone comes and tells us how fantastic his colt is and that our rifles are junk...LOL
the only clearance problem I have heard of is on the MOE (magpul) lowers, I have one on each of my Sport lowers and they work great!! Once you get used to them they become second nature! :D

Oh what a relief!! I have a Dan Wesson .357 also, just to get that off my chest. I remember telling someone years ago that you paid a lot more just for the S&W name, and they weren't that much better. Then I saw the light (chorus music here) and realized how much better the quality is in a S&W firearm. I feel so much better now. :o

Yes I have one (Magpul B.A.D) on my Sport as well and it works great. Like anything else you have to train with it and then it becomes second nature.

I just installed a Tactical Link battery assist lever last night on mine. Haven't been to the range yet to work with it but hope so here soon.

I have one on my MOE. It does rub, but a little tweak on the bend is all it takes to make it work just fine.

One of the many gun related gifts I got for Christmas.
Very easy to install and feels perfectly natural where it's placed. Works flawlessly.

Maybe I'll stop dropping the mag out now?...like I'm the only one that ever did that!

My Colt is fantastic, but yours S&W's are too! That's why I'm here. More about the platform than the manufacturer for me. Hope ya don't mind. Also thinking of a S&W revolver so checking them out on this site as well.

That is the whole thing, a friendly open "welcoming" forum that is more about the platform, although some of us have more knowledge on one manufacturer over another.
Happy New Year

The B.A.D. lever makes operation easier. Don't forget to practice without one mounted so you don't loose basic operation skills.

Just went back a few "pages" and found this old link. Hope it helps. It seems to be the only problems so far. GRRRRrrr. Can't get the link to work, sooooo.

Go back to page 3,go down to "Bolt release device for Magpul lower". Then go down to the post with this link below.

One doesn't have to remove the B.A.D. from the rifle. Palm striking the carrier release can be done with or without it attached. And I agree, practicing both methods ensures one is comfortable with manipulating the AR, regardless of which one you pick up. :)

I'd say that's a great asset "naturally" keeping the muzzle down range in the event of a malfunction. I'm old old school and always keep the muzzle down range. Also seen how PO'd Drill Instructors can get when some one doesn't do that,YIKES !!!

No worries. I have a Mini 14 and they let me play. Now I have the fever and have 4 AR's. It's ALL GROVER'S FAULT !!!! AND JaPes TOO !!! LMAO and love every minute. Great place for info.

Fantastic!! Thank you for all of the great info. I placed my order a few weeks before this whole craze broke out and now I am wishing I would have picked up some ammo that day....I can't find any at a reasonable price and refuse to panic buy at gouged prices. Guess I'll wait out the storm.
