Hi,

I own 2 M&P's (FS40 & Shield 9) and have placed Apex DCAEK kits in both of them. The difference is amazing! However, both of these firearms are a couple of years old and are not equipped with the latest updates.

I have just purchased the new S&W M&P9 9mm NMS NS RST PVD (3) 17rd mags from Buds. I was wondering if anyone here owns the new S&W M&P9 9mm NMS NS RST PVD? And if so, do you feel the new trigger system still requires the Apex upgrade?

Thanks for any advice!

Dave.

I believe the only real difference is the LE is the law enforcement model models comes with 3 mags , night sights and a better reset to the trigger but still the same rough trigger .

Just received mine from Buds. Reset is more pronounced than my Shield but it's just as gritty as the Shield before I added the Apex trigger. I figure a few hundred rounds might clean it up. If not It'll get the same Apex upgrade as the Shield.

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the reply guys!

I think I'll go ahead and purchase the Apex DCAEK kit. I've been extremely pleased with the results with my previous M&P's so I don't see any reason I wouldn't feel the same with this one!

Thanks again.

Frostking . Don't hold your breath waiting for the stock trigger to smooth up much less loose a few pounds pull weight.

I just ordered one from Bud's this weekend. Hoping it will be service weapon accurate. I can deal with a crappy trigger with an APEX kit.

Putting the full Apex kit on the M&P takes up all of the slack in the trigger which is a great improvement. Have S&W shortened the trigger pull on this model?
This new model may not be able to use the RAM.
Isn't PVD softer than the melonite finish?

I picked mine up a few days ago. Trigger was quite heavy and gritty. I predicted that would be the case due to reviews and placed an order for an apex sear at the same time. I broke the gun down the other day and polished the contact points along with the sear. Has a really nice trigger now. I might order the apex plastic trigger at a later date because the factory one has a decent amount of flex.

I have transferred some of them for customers. The reset is MUCH more pronounced, and this special LE SKU is NOT the same as the normal commercial M&P. It does come with 3 mags, but that is not the only difference, by far. The "normal" LE SKU is the same as commercial guns, except it begins with a 3 instead of a 2. The SKU of this gun is 151215, I think. And, no, the trigger needs no modification.

shawn , Need no mods to the trigger is in the eye and finger of the beholder, the non leo that will be shooting and or CC it. . They are no better then normal models .

Besure you shoot a 100 rounds or more before swapping any partsin case it needs any TLC back at S&W CS.

Shawn, can you detail the difference between 151215 and the normal M&P? I realize it has the PVD slide finish, 3 mags, night sights and evidently more sear reset. Is there anything else?
