ALL of my revolvers wear service grips that match the contour of the frame. I can't stand grips (wood or rubber) that fill the area behind the trigger guard, or extend below the frame. Whether it is an I-frame or Colt New Service, I shoot the best with a "high hold"- my middle finger is placed as high as possible behind the trigger guard. Handling a gun with S&W wooden target grips or Hogue Monogrips is very unnatural for me, with too great of a wrist to bore measurement and excessive bulk. Same thing goes for Tyler T-Grips- I will never own one. My model 60-12 came the Uncle Mike's "Boot Grip". What a joke- there is nothing to hold on to. They were quickly replaced with service grips. To me, grip design reached its apex with the pre-war K and N frame square butt magnas. What would be neat is if a grip maker would create grips that matched the profile of the service stocks, but were made of rubber...
