Anyone running an Aimpoint PRO?

The 15-22 is too finicky about loading the magazines, and to be brutally honest, I wouldn't trust it as a SHTF weapon. I therefore wouldn't commit high-end optics to it. Get a Primary Arms microdot and buy more ammo with the money you save.

If you already have an aimpoint, just put it on your 15-22 when you take it to the range, and put it bacon on your big AR when you get back home.

I love my Primary Arms M4. I get compliments everytime I'm at the range on the quality of it, but if you have the $ for a Aimpoint go for it! If I spent that much on an optic for my 15 22 my wife would chop my nutts off!

I've heard several people say that now. Never had a problem here. I push the follower down just enough to load one round at a time. I also let go of it every round to check for the proper upward feeding angle. I can load them faster and more reliably than my 10/22 banana mags.

Like I said - finicky. I don't have to do that with any of my other 22's nor my pistols, nor my big AR's. The plain and simple fact of the matter is that if you want reliability in all aspects of a .22 rifle, you should look for something OTHER than a .22 AR platform. I have a 15-22 and I really like it. It's great to take to the range and empty a few magazines, but when I'm looking for something with a LOT more overall reliability, I take my Henry or my CZ.

BTW, I have a Primary Arms M4 on mine. I think it was $60 or something like that. I also have PA MicroDots on both of my big ARs.

for the record, I'm a big Primary Arms fan. Those guys are awesome - I mean I have literally had 30 min phone conversations and they'll give you info on their stuff but then explanations, they've given me advice and gunsmithing info/tips on assembly and modifying my ARs, optics pro vs cons etc. etc. Just genuniely nice guys. Have even said like, hey you can get such-and-such on sale next week or , We see that what you want is cheaper on a competitors website, we can match it or throw in something or send you over there to save the money etc.

And their optics- Basically IMHO if you're NOT going to buy 'premium' aka usable duty optics this is what you should buy. They're the only value optics and clones of other stuff that are NOT JUNK and not designed for airsoft- they'll hold up to duty use, 5.56 shooting and 12 gauge shooting, etc.

Seriously - I wasted money on NcStar and said to others how silly they were. WHY Spend so much on 15-22 money, why put a different more expensive optic on an AK-47?? THIS ONE has a red dot and a laser and lights up just like THAT one!

Both broke. Just like that, 6 monthss into their use, different issues, both broke. Other people have said same thing about a HOST of other clones. Primary Arms are QUALITY Value-branded optics and they stand by what they sell . That sasy a TON- PLUS, they have some of the best prices on the interwebz world for stuff like Aimpoint red dots and EOTech holosights. ... Their packages are amazing, and their slings/flashlights/Magpul store/etc. are just out of this world.

So I understand I am not going to convince everyone of the 'value' of expensive optics, i understand that and Ii'm cool wit that. I would say, PA is the way to go.

My .02 cent, go with Vortex StrikFire if you want a strong and stable Red Dot that will handle the recoil of a 22LR. Primary Arms seems to be a solid RD as well. I have a Vortex StrikeFire on my second AR15 5.56 and it is holding up very well. And like others have said, don't buy cheap, you'll only end up buying again, add up all the cheap ones and you would have paid for a Vortex or even an Aimpoint.... trust me, I have a box with red dots that I wouldn't put on a pellet rifle.

As for putting an expensive optics on a less expensive 22LR, well the level of quality on the Aimpoint and a Strikefire differ in the aspect that a life is hanging on the end of the AR15 with the Aimpoint, it must work, handle recoil, keep working or the owner holding that weapon is DEAD. I don't plan on taking a 22LR in the field for life and liberty so one can accept the level of quality of workmanship when shooting paper Zombies and or tin cans. But with that said, if your training with the M&P that is setup just like your AR15 but using a Strikefire instead of an Aimpoint ML3, your just keeping your cost down on ammo and that is nothing to frown on these days. Thus why I have purchased the S&W M&P 15/22, for that is what I'm doing. So keep them all in the X's....
