Anyone shot both a XDs45 and a Shield .40?

I am trying to sell my XDs because I don't shoot it well and I have been thinking of getting a revolver. It carries great however. Now I am considering throwing a shield into the mix. Is the shield more pleasurable or more accurate to shoot? Or should I go with a revolver?

(I have an M&P45c with an Apex trigger kit that I shoot absolutely great, but I can get nowhere near the accuracy with the XDs)

Very little difference in felt recoil. The factory XDS trigger is not good compared to the factory Shield trigger. The XDS with the Powder River trigger kit ($130 or so) is much improved and a pleasure to shoot accurately. I love my XDS in this configuration and it has become my sole carry weapon, if I have pants on I have an XDS with in reach.
My opine only

I have the PRP Spring kit in mine. It was only $20. I'm not sure what kit you are referring to for $130. I still feel like the trigger sucks bad on the XDs. Never shot a shield though, so I cant compare the two, but I would throw the apex trigger kit in it regardless because I am so happy with the results on my M&P45c.

When I was looking to buy, I compared the XD-S and Shield Side-By-Side and preferred the Shield. The .40 is a bit smoother than the XD-S45 as far as recoil and a few oz lighter in weight.
Size-wise, they're almost identical and will conceal just as easy.
I can shoot my Shield better than my XDMc and can Front Pocket Conceal Carry it.
As far as comparing the Shield to a revolver... Apples & Oranges... Striker Fire as opposed to true DOA long revolver pull.
Definitely rent/try one before buying.

Then perhaps you only bought the striker spring, the kit includes 3 springs and and a disconnector, is not a snap to install, and makes a noticeable improvement. As triggers so often are, it's subjective.

This is the one I bought. PRP XDS Trigger Spring Kit

It was a challenging install.

You are probably correct, mostly personal preference. I think I am going to rent a shield like an above poster suggested and compare them side by side. I'm 99% sure the revolver is out of the picture.

Thanks!

There is an XD and XDm trigger kit for $125. For the XD-S I have not seen this as an available option. I only see the XD-S spring kit (18.95).

After my XD-S 45 came back from recall the trigger was nothing like it was before sending it in. Much heavier. It made my groups open up on the target so I quit using it and considered selling it. I probably could have gotten used to the heavier trigger weight with practice, but it would so much heavier than my other carry pieces that it was like the odd man out.

The post recall spring kit became available so I got it in hopes it would help and IMO it did. It reduced the trigger pull by a couple of pounds and is much closer to what I remembered it being pre-recall. Now I am glad I did not sell it. After checking function at the range a few times after putting the spring kit in, the piece is back in my carry rotation.

There are take down videos on youtube. The kit is not terrible difficult to install, at times you do wish you had three hands though. It took me 90 minutes to replace the 5 springs. If you are not mechanically inclined, you may want to have a local gunsmith do it.

If you have your heart set on selling it and getting something else, do what works best for you and your situation.
