Anyone still use a shoulder holster?

I carry a M&P 9 in a Miami Classic Galco Rig in the winter. I allows for 2 extra mags, I like it, but it requires a sweater, coat something to be practical.

+1 for the Galco Miami Classic type rig. Spend a lot of time on motorcycles and the riding vest conceals it it perfectly. When out just knocking around I can wear it under an unbuttoned loose fitting Columbia PFG shirt.
Oldcop, I'm a lefty also and had to buy the righty rig for a M&P. I switched the holster and mag carrier to opposite sides, then practiced drawing to break the thumb snap with my index finger first knuckle.

Back "in the day" I had one of those upside-down shoulder holsters, like Steve McQueen (I'm not that cool) for my Colt Cobra and/or Model 36. As the years went by it got lost over various moves, but I wish I could find one now. As a leftie the problem is even more pronounced but if anyone out there knows where one is pls. let me know. I used to carry my off-duty that way when attending court off-duty and wearing the required coat & tie get-up.

You may have to get one custom made, especially being a lefty.:(

I use a BlackHawk shoulder rig with a Serpa holster for my full size M&P40, in the winter when I have a jacket to vest on. It has snaps for hooking to my belt so it stays in place, No complaints here.

I have such holsters for a Ruger 22/45 (Unkle Mike's) and a 1911 (surplus M7)...but for open carry in the woods. For concealment I prefer IWB.

Okay...wore mine today....Alessi Bodyguard with my 442...the light guns work really well in a shoulder rig....and I was on my bike so I didn't have to worry about my jacket pulling up and having the gun show...

I bought a VERY CHEAP rig from UDT(?).
I use it for very long car rides as I hate carrying on my belt.
It a *** but it works well and has a double mag pouch.

I carry A-IWB but have a Desantis horizontal shoulder holster that I've worn a couple times when I was gonna go out for just a few minutes & didn't want to change out of my around-the-house sweatpants. Just wore a light jacket over the shoulder rig and it worked out just fine. Never wore it for a long driving trip but that might be a good use for one also.

I use one one depending what i will be doing i use if for my back up have two one fits better under my shirt especially when i go to church keep one in the shoulder holster one in the pocket strangely the cheap one hides better under the shirt the other nice thing about the two systems is i have lost so much weight they work great as hidden suspenders

Hollywood makes them look so cool...but in my world, they rarely work...and I live there.

My feeling exactly. IWB is the only way to go.

I use a shoulder rig when that seems to be the best option, usually going with my Bianchi X15. Comfortable, concealable, secure yet easy to draw from.

The shoulder holster is great for sitting at the movies too.
I carry at the 3:30 position IWB and ya just can't get comfortable for long periods seated.
The shoulder holster is a great choice for the above activities!
