Anyone tried using a "Heritage" front blade on a Prewar Gun?

I've been looking for a replacement front sight blade for my c. 1932 38/44 outdoorsman. Noticed the set up on the new "Heritage" guns looks very similar. Such as the M-27 Classic. Has anyone tried using the front blade from the classic type as a replacement on the prewar gun? Can the newer blade be modified to fit the prewar if not a perfect fit. As always your comments would be appreciated.
