Thanks for the link, Ringo. I'll have to check it out when I have a lot more time than I do right this minute. I have a feeling I could spend a lot of time (and money) there.
Cool site. One of my all time favorite movie sound tracks is from the "Big Chill".
I will tell you something I discovered--Spotify--best money I NEVER SPENT. Every type of music imaginable for free! For example I just checked and soundtrack for The Big Chill, The Godfather, etc. are all on there. It is ad based like network TV, you have to listen to a 30 second ad every 5 or 10 songs (gives me a chance to go the the restroom, get a drink, or check sports scores) and then right back to your songs, albums, etc. It is truly amazing. Artists are compensated based on ad revenue and number of listens to their songs. Moreover, you can sign up for a subscription service for really cheap and you have no ads!
https://www.spotify.com/us/
You all should check it out-- free app on my iPad. One of the kids that works for me set it up on my iPad.
Sounds good but, its like DvDs, id rather own a copy that I can use when I would like to.
I was/am the same way--I want something in my hand. But you can save your playlists, albums, etc. or download and save. You have the DVD/CD without the DVD/CD! The times, they are a changin'!
I'll have to check out Spotify.
I ditched my land line several years ago. Got tired of paying a monthly fee to get sales calls. Everyone who knows me calls me on my cell.
Same goes for cable TV. Too much money, not enough good programs and little time to watch it anyway. When I have time to actually sit down and watch TV I usually watch something from Netflix.
Did you guys know that the newest vehicles with automatic transmission actually get better gas millage than their standard transmission counterparts when you can even get them anymore. That said, I drive a standard Chrysler PT cruiser that just turned over 207,000 miles. Other than a new clutch at around 160k and regular fluid changes I have never had any transmission work.
I don't buy a lot of soundtracks, but over the years I've had, "The Rose", "Batman", "Top Gun", "The Untouchables", "American Graffiti", "Dirty Dancing", "Once Upon A Time In the West"
"Hard Day's Night", "Let It Be" and "Help" don't count as soundtracks.
I don't know why I don't have "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" but I think it's because I'd just as soon watch the movie..again and again and again.![]()
