I started watching the show "on demand" recently and am getting hooked on it. I'm just a little behind the curve on this and trying to figure out why I didn't watch it earlier.

Yep!
I saw all the original shows last season.
The stories are well written and the casting is good too.
I liked all of the original shows, but the one titled "Dog Soldiers" (or something like that) was one of my favorites. (Anyone ever see the movie "Last of the Dogmen"?)

On a local basis, I believe they have scheduled the running of all of last seasons shows, before Monday night's new season begins.
This scheduling may be on a national basis too.

It is one of the few things on tv that we enjoy these days. New season begins on Monday and we already have our DVR set to snag all the shows of the season. Really looking forward to it.

Hi:
I viewed several last season's episodes on "Netflex".
I enjoyed the series.
The middle aged Sheriff (Longmire) carries a Model 1911 .45acp, blued with stag grips in condition 2 (?).
The Chief Deputy carries a Sig-Sauer (?)
The blond Female Deputy carries a GLOCK !
The young overweight Deputy carries a SMITH AND WESSON "N" Frame in an "Uncle Mike" nylon holster ???
I intend to be a "Regular" viewer.

Love that show. I'm ready for it to come back. They've been running promo's for it the past couple of weeks.

I do and I thoroughly enjoy it. Katee Sackoff is a nice bonus as well. She was great on other shows. She has the best looks when someone says or does something off around her. Next to Justified, Longmire is my favorite show, I'm watching it now, there's a Season 1 Marathon on tomorrow on A&E.

Watched it last season and love it so much that I am really thinking about retireing to Wyoming...

Pete, not to rock your boat, but it's filmed in N.M. Santa Fe area, no worries though, both are somewhat similar.

Watching it now, I usually don't stay up that late and I don't have a DVR so I watch it when I can. But I really enjoy the show. I also like Glades but Longmire is alot better. But cant wait for Hell on Wheels either. And as always looking forward to the 4th season of Walking Dead.

I agree but also add Strike Back and Justified to the list!:)

Craig Johnson is the author..

of the 12 or so Longmire series. Really good read, but you'll find there's a real difference in the characters. Still worth both the read and the video.

I quit watching it the first season. Sort of an anti-gun undercurrent to it, and too many vaguely anti-gun remarks made. If you folks love that, good for you. I'll watch something else.

I don't recall anything of that nature. The author lives in a small town in Wyoming, actual population 25. The story lines reflect that. Small town rural life, but he has to deal with drunks, murders, drugs, native americans and reservation life. (No, it's not a cowboys and indian thing.)

I was looking for another series to watch - just watched first episode - I kinda agree with DWalt - Sheriff asks his deputy to check on owners of Sharps "registered or unregistered"

just checked Wyoming law too - no registration for long guns or handguns - I guess its Hollywood's stamp on it

seems like an entertaining show though - I do like the acting and script

check on owners of Sharps "registered or unregistered"

I remember that for some reason they felt they knew the type of rifle that was used. They knew it was not common, maybe because of the caliber. They went looking for any paper trail, or possible owners that might of had it for generations, or a collector of antiques, etc. Within the story, without suggesting the need for registration, they were looking to see if they could find someone that recently bought one. They weren't looking to data bases, but to a stores sales records.

Longmire is OK but I gotta tell ya, they have more murders in the course of 3 or 4 episodes than we have in the entire state in a year!
