Hello all, recently purchased my first gun, an MP 9 2.0 4.25" for home defence, and as per many suggestions changed the trigger to the APEX Flat Faced Forward Kit which made the gun that much more awesome.

As I practiced to learn how to properly use a gun, I really enjoyed it so have been shooting quite a bit and am planning on trying out competitions. I have been adviced to start on the IPSC Production Division in which I can´t use the APEX flat faced trigger, but the improved internals should be ok.

My question is, can I use the stock MP9 2.0 trigger with the APEX forward set sear actuator? The rest of components are fine as APEX sells a kit with just these, but have not been able to find any comments on the forward set sear actuator which I think is one of the parts that makes the most difference.

I know I could just change the triggers and try it out but, want to avoid switching them on the trigger bar just yet as it's a pain, so want to see if someone has tried this before or there are any opinions on the matter.

Thanks.

I have no idea what are the IPSC Production Division rules, but you can use any part of APEX"Flat-Faced Forward Set Trigger Kit for M&P M2.0" keeping stock trigger shoe.
APEX trigger shoe is mounted on original trigger bar, so it doesn't matter if you change this or not.

I'm curious, is your M&P with old "hinged" trigger or the new "flat" one?

I have the old "hinged" trigger. My main concern is if the gun will still work if changing the trigger shoe to the stock one while keeping all other APEX parts, particularly the actuator. APEX sells a kit without the trigger shoe for competitions, CAEK kit (see link below), which has all the parts in the kit I got except the shoe and the forward sear actuator, which got me curious as to why not include the actuator.

From my understanding, the APEX actuator is responsible for decreasing the trigger take-up (could be wrong, someowhat new to the gun internals/parts, but still improves the trigger in some way), so why not include it in the CAEK? Maybe the position that the stock shoe would lie in with the APEX actuator won't allow the trigger to break or something like that?

I'm not sure if the kit from that link works in M2.0.

But for sure you can use APEX "Flat Faced Forward Set Trigger Kit" and mix it with stock hinged trigger shoe.
You can play with Apex and factory springs to find the best trigger pull weight for you.

Hey jurek, thanks a lot for the advice. Yeah I´m probably going to end up changing the shoe to the stock one so I can enter the production division.

Where I live shooting is not that big and there´s normally only production and open division. I don´t expect to be winning anything as I´m pretty new, but would not like to fare against the open division folks that have redots, compensators and the such that I don´t plan on buying yet.

Will try to get a hold of one of the newer SW "flat" shoes that are soposedly better (and nicer looking), but so far has been tough.
