Apex Sear installed.

Hi all,
New guy to the forum.

I just bought a LNIB M&P9 Pro (50rds through it) this weekend for an unbelievable price.
I ordered an Apex sear on Sunday and it arrived today.
Install was quick and easy and was done in ~5min.

I took some measurements before and after:
Total travel - take-up - reset - trigger weight (10 pull average)
M&P 9 Pro (stock) .55" - .34" - .21" - 4lbs 2.8oz
M&P 9 Pro (Apex) .55" - .385" - .165" - 3lbs 5.2oz

The reset distance is the same as my XDm w/Springer Trigger kit in it and shorter than my Glock.

Now i just have to get to the range this weekend for it's maiden voyage.

I heard about the sear over on Brian Enos forum.

Out of the box, the Pro already had a nicer trigger (IMO) than my Glock and XDm.
Now with the Apex sear the reset is shorter than my Glock and the same as my XDm w/ Springer trigger kit. The Pro trigger breaks much cleaner than the other 2 now.

Does the Pro have a domed striker block?

The Pro isn't legal in CA, so I haven't seen the underside of the slide. I have found that sometimes the stock striker block interferes with the tactile "feeling" of the trigger reset. In some cases, our sear can aggravate that due to the shift in timing.

We will have a new striker block and spring that should bring the feeling back.

and on the BE forum, someone mentioned this:

Just tweak the inward pressure of the trigger bar just a bit to stiffen up the feel of the reset.

not exactly sure where though.

I spoke to Dave Olhasso(Team S&W) today. He increases the bow of the trigger to yield a more positive reset feel without having to use a stronger trigger return spring. In fact, he mentioned that he uses a Wolff Glock Trigger spring as well on his match guns.

I have heard from some of our customers that they have bent the trigger bar at the mid point of the bar. Apparently this causes the bar to have greater pressure against the inner surface of the frame when the bar is in disconnect mode. This then causes the trigger bar to be snapped inward under the sear cam as you release the trigger.
