Hello. This is on an M&p 9 2015 version.
I've read a lot of reviews stating this sear has no real effect since most issues were corrected in the M&P 2013+ guns.
I decided to spend $40 and purchase the apex sear.
Trigger pull on a lymans averaged at 6.2 lbs on a completely stock M&P 9mm with only 200 rounds through it and a nice cleaning.
I installed the sear, which took about 1 minute.
Pre-travel? exact same as the stock despite claims. A Lot.
Overtravel?- Perfect. practically none, no trigger bar adjustment.
Trigger weight 4lbs 12 ounces average. This is a stock sear for apex sear exchange only.
Is $40 worth it? I'd say so. makes the gun feel absolutely perfect without going competition weight level. Is my muzzle not nearly pulling off target as I pull the trigger, granting much better accuracy? Yes. Would I attribute this to the trigger pull weight? no. Would I attribute this to the lack of any overtravel compared to the stock trigger? yes. I've found that overtravel has been one of the biggest accuracy robbing culprits out there, unless you pull youre trigger back very, slow and carefully. However, most combat or speed drills do not allow that.
Just my .02 on anyone on the fence about getting the sear by itself without spending close to $100 on their full kit.
P.S. for those who don't want the full set sear kit, getting the regular AEK polymer trigger is amazing. I love mine.
